Looks like a war against the poor to me. Oh well, let them eat both cake and rich peoples lead. Perhaps we can put the lessors back into slavery?

So how is banning assault weapons disarming anyone? Funny that no one can answer that. Pretty pathetic.

Um not unless you go house to house literally confiscating them, which isn't happening. Besides they would just go out and buy a handgun.

Only a moron would think that's a good idea. If someone steals your car and purposely runs someone over and kills them you aren't held responsible. My guns are all locked in a safe. Insurance for guns would just be another money making scam so I'm sure liberal idiots would be all for it.

Motor vehicle owners are mandated by law to purchase insurance if they take a motor vehicle off their private property.

I'd be all for holding gun owners responsible legally if their guns are used in a crime.

When a gun wielding criminal rapes and murders your loved ones right in front of you you can file a claim. Not me, I'll just kill the SOB with one of my evil guns before they hurt me or my loved ones.

But to your earlier point that any requirement for mandatory Liability insurance on gun owners, would represent an "infringement" on their 2nd Amendment right to own a gun, I think that is very much in debate by legal scholars. TBD.

But see, here's the deal which most gun nuts don't get - the majority of Americans want some action on guns. They don't know what is the best action, but there is STRONG demand for something. Any change, is viewed as better than no change. So change is coming. Bank on that.

Personally, I like the idea of requiring liability insurance. Responsible gun owners would pay minimally, while those found to not be responsible gun owners, will be charged appropriately. Let the free market forces come into play, and perhaps, may help to reduce some gun related casualties. The aim is to try and make gun owners more responsible. The burden, the financial burden, is put on the gun owner. Case in point - Maybe if this mom had been more careful in locking away her guns, there might not have been a Sandy Hook? If she had survived, if not found criminally liable, then, at the very least, her liability insurance would have paid out some compensation to the families, AND, her future premiums would have driven her from remaining a gun owner.

But I'm not going to debate this. I don't have to. I am confident change is coming. The burden is on gun owners to put forth a meaningful solution that will satisfy the American people...and I don't mean gun owners.

    Good luck.

Well, hopefully our friends at S&W will create an "assault firearm" the size of derringer.

I want to see what cretins like Fiendstain and Cuomo will do then.
