When I was 6 and if I got sent to the office, I would be scared shytless..

This little angel got sent there 3 times on the SAME day!!

Little angel Rodney, clearly has no respect for authority...Hopefully his parents busted his arse, but good...
I was just thinking a lot of time would have been saved if the principal had been allowed to do this the 2nd time Little Johnny had to be spoken to.

I got suspended 1 time and 1 time only...

When I was in 6th grade the show Kung Fu was quite popular...My friend and I were outside at lunch playing Kung Fu like characters, acting like we were kicking and karate chopping each other..Teacher told us to stop, but we continued "playing"..He sent us to the office..We told the principal we were playing, he suspended us for disobeying a teacher ( much like our little angel Rodney )..We were told to stop ONCE, not THREE times...

I remember that arse whipping I got when I got home to this day...My friend got his arse whipped too..

Never thought about getting suspended again...

Whoever left that gun unsecured so a child has access to it should be in jail.

I have not demonized him. Apparently my comments about Sandy Hook will be left ignored.

You're right! There is no difference between the behavior of a six year old and the behavior of an 11 year old!

And in today's world, your parents would be charged with child abuse. Go figure!

They are not ignored, it is just the way things are now...As Americans, sadly, this is how we live..

Sandy Hook is likely to happen again and no one will be shocked or suprised....

You are exactly right, but it was a whole different world back then...

Trust me on this Wiz, you'll all come to love the true Piers, he will become a true 'American', just give him the chance... about 30-40 years should do it, just be patient.

Well, technically the nuns did! (A veteran of Catholic schools myself, those nuns were fabulous teachers but a little bit on the sadistic side. On the plus side, learning to live with fear strenghtens character!!!!!!)

My father went to an all-boys Catholic school in Manhattan in the 60s and he has some great stories about how the Brothers used to discipline the boys. Punches to the face, 2x4s dropped on the head, etc.

And my grandmother says she got locked in a closet once, and had a Sister threaten to cut her tongue off with scissors for talking in class.

The suspension was not for disobedience. He was suspended for threatening to shoot another student and is what will be on his permanent record.

So that leads me to ask. If this was what school administrators truly believed to be a threat to shoot a student that caused apprehension or fear in the student that was threatened. That's second degree assault. Why did they not call the police to report this crime commited against a child entrusted to their care? They have reporting requirements. If this was erious enough to take any action over. Then it was serious enough to take all actions over. Especially those required by law. So if this kid can have in his permanent record that he threatened to shoot another student. Then every school administrator and teacher connected to this can have the failure to properly protect a child by reporting crimes against them to the proper authorities in their permanent records. If they are going to insist that thgis was a real threat. Then they should be fired and possibly even arrested for failing to report that threat and crime against another student.

Sure it was. He was chastised twice and told not to do it. He did it again. What do they call that in your world?

And I'm pretty sure your first grade "permanent record" doesn't follow you thru life. But if you think so, here's a fun exercise, try to find yours.

What six year old does NOT need three warnings to stop some sort of behavior?

The schools just want parents to send them drugged up robots.

You might want to rephrase that.

No doubt the school system will insist that he be tested for ADHD and appropriately medicated.

When I got suspended in the 6th grade, on the last day of school, all 6 graders that had been suspended just once got to go to the principals office and cut the suspension papers with scissors...

Hopefully, little angel Rodney, if given the chance to do that, won't point the scissors at the principal...
