    Things were indeed better then....

Today, a principle touches your kid, they go to jail...

Maybe the principle wanted nothing more than to smack the kid upside his apparently thick skull...Knowing he could not do that, he rightfully suspended him...

There is a tremendous amount of love in our family, and it all started with 2 people I know as my mom and dad...

My father was the most kind and gentle man I have ever met, but he would of had no issues at all coming to school and spanking my arse in front of my class had the principal called him..It never happened, but there was no way I was going to put him to the test!!!
And yet you are still quick to call kids brats

Part of my perfect life can be attributed to my guidance counselors..They were freaking awesome!!

I remember talking to my guidance counselor in the 8th grade...I mentioned my interest in sports and sports broadcasting...He made a few phone calls, and we had Mike Curtis from the Colts AND Vince Bagli come and speak to the entire 8th grade class..I got to introduce both of them...Was great, and all because of the caring guidance counselors...

Well, I know that it wasn't hours. And I know that if the little boy is experiencing psychological issues he needs more than a quick visit to an elementary school guidance counselor. Or do you disagree?

There are a lot of administrators and/or social workers that need jobs.

Unless they can show that they routinely suspend first graders for not getting it together three times they're going to have a <proverbial> black eye from this.

The parents may be successful in having this event expunged from the child's record.

I think the school's staff that was involved in this needs to be temporarily expunged. A six year old is not even recognized as being legally capable of having intent to commit a serious criminal act.

And I'm pretty sure your first grade "permanent record" doesn't follow you thru life. But if you think so, here's a fun exercise, try to find yours.
If you read the Article the reason for the suspension stated in a disciplinary letter sent to his parents is that he "threatened to shoot a student."

Boy, 6, suspended from Silver Spring school for pointing finger like a gun

In Silver Spring, the 6-year-old’s parents received a Dec. 20 letter from Renee Garraway, an assistant principal at Roscoe Nix Elementary School, saying that their son “threatened to shoot a student” and that he had been spoken to earlier about similar behavior.

The incident happened on Dec. 20, and the boy served the suspension the next day.

Good, Maybe the Lynch family can parent this time around and teach the boy what he did is unacceptable.

Maybe the school can not be so quick to suspend a 6 year old for a gesture.

So once again, the parents whined and an administrator caved.
