Really not paying much attention to Feingstein's fantasies because I don't believe they have any chance of passing. The republican controlled house will easily shoot it down. In fact, I believe it would have trouble in the senate. Not every democratic senator/representative comes from a far left liberal leaning state like California. Some of them actually have to worry about being removed from office by the voters. It is those people who will not be voting for legislation that in any way appears to threaten the 2nd amendment.

I believe an AWB in some "watered-down" form will get through just to make it look they are doing something.

But like the last AWB it will accomplish virtually nothing.

I stand by what I said. In California, they mandated registration of assault weapons and then mandated by law that they be turned in. The people who did not turn them in are now lawbreakers subject to criminal prosecution.

Feinstein has publically stated that if the votes were there she would tell "Mr and Mrs America to turn them [assault weapons] ALL in".

The summary of her proposed legislation requires handguns and shotguns that have "one military characteristic" (wth would that be) to be classified as assault weapons.

Are you that naive? In California anyone owning them had to turn them in or they were breaking the law. If they have a record of you owning them and not turning them in they WILL go after them.
