We have the real debate coming in February concerning the debt ceiling and spending. We shall see whether or not your statement is true.

The "real" debate???? On whether the Congress of the United States are going to pay the bills on the money they have already spent? Now that is really being responsible Flyboy. Try that with your mortgage next month and see how far that tactic gets you! The mind boggles....."real" debate! Where do these people come from?

Congress only has to pay foreign countries the interest owed. Immediate spending cuts on existing programs will provide additional income to help pay the interest. Don't you remember the debates in 2011? They had a plan to pay the immediate bills and postpone or just stop altogether or programs. Cuts are coming my friend. The ball is now in Obama's court to prove he really wants a fair and balanced approach.

..................and don't forget to stop paying your mortgage as a trial run so that you can tell your lawmakers how it went for you!

I don't get Fox News here in PRico. I watch CNN, CNBC and occasionally MSNBC when I want a good laugh. Are you saying Obama lied and he is not going to work to get spending cuts? Many people believe that is the case. They also believe he is going to ask for more taxes by closing the tax loop holes. I don't think he has the clout left after using it on this BS fiscal cliff fiasco.

He will get both, spending cuts and more revenue, you can take it to the bank.

If it happens I won't have anything left to take to the bank. All I can say is they better use the surplus to start paying down the debt.

How did you feel about "your" quarter of Republicans including Paul Ryan voting against aid for Sandy victims today? Or do you want to wait for the next "big one" to hit your corner of PRico before answering?

The bill with all the pork? I would vote against it myself if I were in office.

House is paid for. And PRico has no personal property tax on your primary dwelling. With the money this country has made over the years we shouldn't have a $16T debt. We should be so financially rock solid we'd be the world bank. Oh that's right, we are the world's bank.

No doubt in my mind Mom! I remember how nervous you were when Sandy hit with the power flickering. Might be a different story if you home had been demolished. But, I'm all right jack so screw my neighbors down at the shore.

Get rid of the pork and the bill will be fine.

I have insurance on my home, which most people here in PRico do not have. They do expect the government to help them out if and when the big one hits here. If it floods, I will just mop out the house as it's made of concrete. I thought it was a shame the way they delayed it so long. Just like they delayed the fiscal cliff bill. But both bills were so full of pork even that is shameful. I really don't think most of our representatives truly care about paying down the debt.

Well try this one on for size Mom because your own FOX News could not find the "pork" you say was in the Bill. The so-called "pork" was bogus. It was all associated with Sandy needed items like waste-water plants etc..

But seeing that you have read the Bill, don't be shy, educate us all?

Perhaps it is up to you to prove me wrong and I did not get my news from Fox. Funny that you did.
