Oh, so where the murders take place is the defining feature of them?

Funny, I didn't realize that. I thought it was the dead body and the smoking gun.

You have to define your terms. In the wild west where people are fighting Indian wars and setting up ramshackle mining camps? Or in the major cities of the East with established law and order? Just saying "the 19th century" means nothing. Just like now, if we talk about inner city Baltimore vs. some leafy suburb, you'll get two different views. In general, you were much safer in the 19th century than now. I don't think that is really arguable.

But it does. To say gun violence is to be blamed on the break down of culture and the media is to ignore the fact that gun violence is endemic to this country, well before the break down of culture and media. We were a far more "Christian" nation in the 19th cent., and there was no media to speak of, and yet, gun violence was extremely high.

There's a lot more going on here than you're willing to admit.

    Anyway, back on topic.

Did anyone ever imagine a day where they thought they'd see a market for bullet-proof children's accessories, or foresee that those accessories would be the solution to a problem?

    Sheer lunacy.

True, but occasionally you hear something makes you say, Hmm.

A cop told me that as many cops had escaped injury in car wrecks due to wearing Kevlar body armor, as had been saved injury due to gunfire.

I've never read that anywhere, but I have no reason to doubt him.

Yes Kevlar is a good protection against internal injuries, no matter the cause.

Should we all wear bullet proof vests all day? And helmets too? Or is that not really the issue here?

I know old people that won't go anywhere for fear of being shot, mugged, robbed, etc.

    Oh wait, that's me.

Show me where gun laws have stopped anything. The gun grabbers need to put up or shut up. They can't do the one so it's best if they do the other.

Maybe. People wear those dorky looking bicycle helmets.

I'm not a gun grabber but some common sense changes should be made.

Your espoused views are indeed one hundred percent consistent with anti-civil rights bigotry, fear of inanimate objects and fascist/racist/bigoted/hate fueled gun grabbing.

The fascist and racist Libbies are indeed quite akin to monstrous beasts of myth with their voracious appetite when it comes to things that belong to others coupled with an intellect that would make a perfect marble appear sharp by comparison.

Don't you have anything better to do on a Saturday night than to troll a message board?

One can only but try to get you to put your Sheets Byrd back on the bed. Stop being a follower of the Grand Cyclops Fiend Stain.
