Hey, I said the people affected by the storm should be paid. But to say we're not all affected is wrong. When tax money is involved, we are all affected.

Not that that compares to people to have lost their homes. I have in fact had to stay with my brother and his family in the past for about 5 months. Not a pleasant experience.

Well, I asked that question earlier. If premiums are being paid, where is the money collected through the premiums?

And why is it when you ask that question, you get tagged as some sort of heartless bastard.

It's totally backwards that they passed the Fiscal Cliff deal loaded with corporate welfare and pork yet refused to have a vote on Sandy Relief. That's a slap in the face to taxpayers...
SF, as noted by someone earlier, these storms are fairly commonplace. Why is there funding in place specifically to address this when it happens. And I'll ask again, where did the premium payments for the insurance go?

From what I've read the money was fine until Katrina hit, which exhausted what was there at the time. Someone else mentioned possibly raising the premiums seeing as how much damage Katrina and this last storm caused. It may be time to look at that issue
