It is well past time to ban families and relationships. It is a 'safety issue' and 'for the children.'

    Is that your suggested solution?

Interesting. Doper jacked up on meth. Thirty-three years old. Three previous weapons charges. Most recently in June of 2012. A prohibited person in possession. Perhaps things would have turned out differently for those killed had the previous charges been taken a bit more seriously. The laws necessary to deal with this sort of thing already exist. In the end, I guess it was just too difficult since his right to be free and kill superseded the victim's right to live.

Where did you get that information? Oh, wait, I see my earlier link has been updated.

Google "Aurora hostage" or "Sonny Archuleta weapons charges".

The updated linked story also says the murderer was involved in
...a faith-based life-skills workshop and recovery-support agency that focused on overcoming hopelessness...
according to his profile. Do we need to know which faith was involved before we can use the story to brand all followers worshipping the same deity?

Or would it be a perfect example of how gun control laws and lax enforcement of existing gun laws against those who are criminals do little or nothing to stop criminals set on murderous intent when they are not incarcerated?

The Violence Against Women Act mostly provides support for organizations that serve domestic violence victims. Criminal prosecutions of abusers are generally the responsibility of local authorities, but the act stiffened sentences for stalking under federal law.
Supporters credit the 1994 act with sharply reducing the number of lives lost to domestic violence over the past two decades.

Along with banning so-called children AND full body cavity searches for ALL prygryssyves conducted by agents of government. The latter would require the searched prygryssyve to lovingly lick the boot of one government agent while the other agent searches. The licking of the government boot should provide enough of a being in Nirvana feeling for said prygryssyves that the cavity search would not cause even the most minor of discomfort.
