Hope you find some comfort in yr other children friend.

Thanks, I'm out to expose how sick psychiatry really is!

I always wanted a Playmobil dashboard: steering wheel, knobs, "windshield wiper to help you see!" Thought Playmobil went the way of dodo bird, concept of "protect & serve."

But we were in a "Learning How"(?) shop 'round Christmas, & the Playmobil logo lined an entire wall. Saw no dashboards nor this, but if there's security checkpoint, can lil' Conrad Contractor fixing municipal speed cameras be far behind?

Not hard to believe we lead the world in incarceration when you have an industry whose profitability hinges on having lots of people in prison. The sheer stupidity boggles the mind.

Not sure if I should laugh or be concerned that security check points are so common now that they are children's toys.

Is there any commercial airport in the world that doesn't have a security screening? Whichever country is deemed to be the most "libertarian" has them too. (Not sure which country that might be.)

The overwhelming majority of people don't see airport security as some evil government plot to oppress the masses. It's just a necessary inconvenience and has become a perfectly normal part of air travel. My own kids thought the x-ray machine was fun and exciting when they were young, so why not have a toy like this.

I agree, accept this toy does not call itself an airport check point. Maybe it looks like the check point in a kids school? or shopping mall? or library?

I certainly don't believe the toy itself is damaging in any way. Just think it's sad that these things are so common.

I was flying to the west coast last week and in security there just happened to be quite a few little kids. They seem very comfortable with the security procedures. I struck up a conversation with the family in front of me who had 2 little ones, would guess 3 and 6. They travel a lot and the mother told me that they were initially a bit apprehensive but have become old pros now. Oh well, the world we live in.

The manufacturer says it's supposed to be at an airport. Here's text from the OP's link to Amazon:
    Product Description

    From the Manufacturer

The woman traveler stops by the security checkpoint. After placing her luggage on the screening machine, the airport employee checks her baggage. The traveler hands her spare change and watch to the security guard and proceeds through the metal detector. With no time to spare, she picks up her luggage and hurries to board her flight!

    Mom,

My son is 23 and he still collects the little people. They issue them in series as collectables. He gets one or two a month. The fun is you don't know which ones they are when you buy them; they just send you a random figure in the mail. Last one he got was a lady Viking. He needs a fireman and a gladator to complete one series. I think it's a little silly but I don't knock it because I figure he could be doing a lot worse. They only cost a couple of bucks each and they're legal, so I just sigh a little prayer of thanks to the Lord, because silly I can live with, if you know what I mean.
