When Dr. James Andrews is on the sideline FOR YOU and he's telling people he's "scared to death" about your situation... well, good luck. Enjoy that ride as long as you can, chances are it won't be a long one. Not unless they change something to preserve the guy. He's in probably the best shape he'll EVER be right now, and he left three games due to injury this season before the final snap. It's not going to get easier from that perspective.
am I remembering correctly, after the game against the Ravens, didn't he say he wasn't going to run anymore, thus, putting himself in situations where he takes a big hit and risks a major injury, because he owes it to his team to be there for them?

14,645 post and you never started one? That would be a lie now wouldn't it? Either way, enjoy watching the Ravens from your couch like the rest of us next week. Will RgD2's brace be on Ebay next week? The crip won't be needing it ...... NEVERMORE!

I still don't understand the glee at a dynamic young player who, by all accounts is an outstanding human, getting injured. I don't think I ever will.

The MRI of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III's right knee suggests partial tears of his ACL and LCL, the Washington Post is reporting.

The Post cited several people with knowledge of the results.

Well, that's not the worst news it could have been. Sounds like he'll be back for next year.

I wonder if that idiot Bayless will admit that the Colts knew what they were doing going with Luck. His man crushes first for Tebow and now with RG3 getting to be a bit much. Colin Cowherd predicted this scenario this past summer as far as Griffith getting hurt.

No glee on him getting hurt BUT if it shuts the turds up, that is glee enough for me.

It was a strange way for the Redskins surprising season to end. I think they're both at fault... Griffin and Shanahan. It seemed obvious that Griffin's leg was affecting him ALL AROUND, not just when it came to running with the ball.

I sort of suspect that Shanahan sees Griffin as a guy who has all the potential in the world, but drafted another QB relatively early (4th round is a bit more valuable than a 6th or 7th round "what the hell" choice) because deep down inside he knows that all of the running stands a good chance to shorten the guy's career.

At the same time, why not go to Cousins earlier? I really don't buy the idea that a 50% or 60% Griffin still gave them "the best chance". A 60% Griffin, when that 40% of loss is in his legs / mobility, isn't really a 60% Robert Griffin in my opinion. When that big play run threat goes, the LBs and safeties don't spend as much time peaking / guessing when he's going to run... which means all of the under routes that he was so effective throwing this year (often to a wide open receiver) start to get covered. That's a difficult adjustment for a rookie, any rookie, to cope with. Especially on that stage.

Morris was hitting some big runs early on (8, 9, 18). Once it became obvious that Griffin's leg was limiting his mobility, same deal... the fear of Griffin taking off goes away, and his limited carries from then on were all in the short to modest gain range (about 0 to 5 yards). When the LBs aren't freezing on the fake (and Griffin pulls off the fake give as well as anybody I can remember), things get harder for Morris. Griffin couldn't really run, and couldn't plant and get much behind his throws after a bit.

Oh well, Shanahan has to live with it. Hopefully the guy doesn't repeat this year's performance health-wise. He won't last long at all if he keeps shredding knee ligaments.

Both he and Wilson have to be able to run to be effective since neither have the size to be pocket passers.

Then how come he does not stay in the pocket to avoid getting the sheet knocked out of him? Face it: if he cannot run anymore than Shanahan looks like a genius getting Cousins.

You think it's cool that a baby girl lost her father to a bunch of punks when all he was doing was defending his family? And you have the nerve to defend Ray Lewis. You're a piece of Baltimore trash.

There has to be some concern considering this is his second ACL injury and he only has one pro season under his belt. If something doesn't change, his career will be short.

He adjusted after the original injury. He goes out of bounds and he slides so he doesn't have a 300 lb tub of lard throwing himself at him again. This injury is because he was playing hurt and shouldn't have been. Hell, he wasn't even touched on the two plays he got hurt.
