With the Ravens' payroll approaching the salary cap, this could be his last season in Baltimore.

"I have no idea," Kruger said. "All I want to do is be a Raven. That's all I'm thinking about. Just going into this week, it was so big. I know it sounds cliché, but that's really all that I'm thinking about right now."

If he's a free agent he's gone. More than likely they either sign or tag Flacco tying up cap money. Kruger's earned a big pay day from some team

Same situation as JJ. Kruger has really stepped up in the second half of the season. His agent will no doubt get the highest bid for him.

Ed's a free agent, no way he gets franchised. The tag will be reserved for Flacco. I don't think they'll have enough money to beat another team's offer to Kruger. Dude's played out of his mind this season

Probably. You have to figure Joe at conservative estimate will pull in at least $10M per with a bonus with a new contract. Maybe a lower salary if it's back loaded, but you have to remember the annual salary plus a pro rated portion of the bonus=the cap number. They'll save about $4M with Ray's retirement so that will help. If they don't resign or tag Flacco there's no problem, other than we'll have a qb problem. Realistically do you see that happening? despite what some think here, I think zero chance Flacco's in another uniform next year. I don't know that Kruger is worth more to the team than Flacco

personally, I like the guy. I don't understand why he's given such lukewarm affection around the fanbase.

Everything will hinge on what they do with Flacco. This is what B-more Ravor wrote on his blog

Unfortunately, for Flacco and the Ravens, there’s not a really appropriate comparison contract in existence. Flacco certainly deserves to be paid more than guys like Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (7 years/$62M/$24M guaranteed) and Cardinals’ QB Kevin Kolb (6 years/$63M/$12M guaranteed), but it’s questionable whether he deserves to be part of the $100M club, which includes QBs like Michael Vick (6 years/$100M/32M guaranteed), Philip Rivers (7 years/$98.5M/$38M guaranteed) and Eli Manning (7 years/$107M/$35M guaranteed).
Obviously, given the lack of a contract extension to date, it’s pretty clear that the Ravens and Flacco’s representatives have also had trouble finding an agreeable value.

I have mentioned letting Flacco walk in the past but not because I don't want him on the team.It's because I don't want them to keep him if it means paying him a top 5 salary in the $16-20 million per season range because IMO he's just not that good.Flacco can be a quality QB when he has quality players around him but re-signing him at that price would be pretty much cap suicide and force the team to fill out the roster with a bunch of mediocre players which would be all they would be able to afford.Flacco is not the kind of QB who will make the players around him better and he needs above average talent around him to be effective.

It's one thing to lose vets like Lewis,Reed,Birk and McKinnie who have seen their better days, but when you lose young core talent like Grubbs and Kruger because the team is so cap strapped because they have 4-5 players consuming half of their available cap space then you have to question whether or not those 4-5 are worth it.As much as I like Haloti Ngata his play wasn't worth the $17 million dollar cap hit the team took this season especially when you consider that only left them around $103 mill for the other 52 players on the roster.

Sadly I have a suspicion that might be what ends up happening. Tagging him in my opinion is the worst possible scenario. But when you think about someone like Kevin Kolb making $10M per, Flacco isn't going to be cheap. I can think of 5 teams off the top of my head who I think would be willing to give him $12 per for 6 years, with maybe 15 or 20 guaranteed. Obviously he's not going to get Brees money, but he'll definitely get more than Kolb money from someone. They may not have a choice but to franchise him and see what he does next year
