Default Ravens-Broncos game-time weather- it will be 12 degrees!

Manning is a dome QB, not a cold weather QB. This will change their passing game plan, I think. It will also change ours.
Both teams will have to run more and the cold may make fumbling more of an issue.

I think the advantage will be towards the Ravens with the cold weather. Anything that negates Manning is helpful to us. Let's hope so.

I think we win 20-3, with one defensive score.

According to weather.com, the high temperature in Denver on Saturday will be 21 degrees. More importantly, there will be little wind. Wind is a bigger factor than cold. I think if the Ravens assume that Manning is not a cold weather QB and thus won't run his normal offense, they will get beaten from the start. I am sure Harbaugh is too smart to buy into that nonsense.

    Things are shaping up nicely:

    - anti Manning cold weather
    - Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy interviewing: minor distraction
    - everyone telling broncos they have the game
    - quiet Ravens confidence

21? ouch. I was thinking about going. But I don't really want to fly all that way and pay all that money to sit in freezing temperatures. I'm fine sitting on my cough next to my fire place.

However, if somehow they get to New England, I may gladly drive up and sit in the weather.

The Ravens said they would be flying into Denver on Friday. Denver is expecting 2-5 inches of snow throughout friday.

The Media is licking the Bronco's nuts in a big way. There is enough bulletin board fodder to go around for the whole team. Ravens are going to be looking to make liars out of those folks.

Damn that's cold. Glad I'm not sitting in that.

All the conjecture surrounding Manning and weather is false hope. He is there, he is practicing in this weather (and with a glove I hear), he will be ready. Plus the Ravens still look bad against the run and Moreno ran for 115 and a TD in Bmore.

Anyone else remember the Sunday night game in Baltimore against the Redskins a few years back. It was about 12 degrees that night. It was Joe's Rookie year and if I remember right the Ravens played pretty well that night.

the afternoon temp in Denver is supposed to be 12 degrees, at least that is what I saw on the weather report.

I don't think the Ravens will take Manning lightly, but anyone who remembers the 1967 GB Dallas game remembers just how thins change with temps into the teens. Hey maybe it will be 19, or 17 but we all know it will be colder than any temp they have played in for some time

Some stats and an article on Peyton Manning playing in weather below 40 degrees.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...vers-the-goods

The bigger concern, of course, is Manning in frigid conditions. His record in games trapped in sub-40 degree temperatures is 6-5, with a pedestrian 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, but this includes late-January playoff games against the best in the AFC.

My take is the weather won't matter much at all for Manning. But if the above poster is right, 12 degrees is pretty extreme.

I hope so. I think that plays in the Ravens favor.

I hope, if that's the case Ravens in the W column, we lose in a shootout.

According to Weather.com, 12 degrees is the LOW for the day, not the high. It shows a high of 23, which will probably mean that by game time it will be in the 19-20 range. Also, it shows low winds (4-6 mph).

Exactly. And keep in mind, while it starts at 4:30 here, it is only 2:30 there so it will be played in the warmest part of what will still be a very cold day. I doubt the weather will play a major factor either way.

The most important stat is the Ravens are healthy. He (Peyton) knows it's going to be more difficult this time around. With the exception of Webb we may be a bit dinged up but for the most part healthy and ready to ride!

It's supposed to be 18 at game time. I'm surprised the Ravens didn't go out to Denver today - one day early. They could get more acclimated to the higher altitude and an extra day of practice at Mile High. Just my thoughts.
