Great analysis as usual. This will be a different Ravens team than the one the Broncos faced a few weeks ago. I expect the Ravens to fight hard and while I only give them about a 40% chance to win this game, there have been plenty of times when the weather forecast showed 40% chance of rain and guess what? It rained!

Thanks Pez! What do you think about Pierce getting about 15 carries this game?

The Ravens are going to win this game.
This is a different team than the one from last month.

Can't argue with anything he said. Bottom line is that I think Denver is a better team on both sides of the ball than the Ravens. The O-line and Peyton's quick delivery will neutralize Baltimore's pass rush. Denver has only given up 11 sacks in their past 11 games. On defense, Denver's pass rush is one of the tops in the league for sacks. Unless there are some uncharacteristic turnovers on Denver's side, I think they will own both line of scrimmages and control the game. I think the Ravens hold tough for a half, maybe even three quarters, but in the end Denver will make enough plays, wear down the Raven's defense and win at home. It is a tough draw to come off of a very emotional last home game for Ray Lewis and have to travel on a short week to a tough place to play against a very good team. The Raven's are going to need every bounce of the ball to go right for them to win this game.

    Thanks for posting that link.
As an ex-Broncos fan (another story for another time), I keep thinking about another team that had "no hope" against another Denver team:The 1996 Jaguars.

They came into Denver as a 14-point dog. Woody Paige mocked them in the Denver Post. Denver scored the first 2 TDs, missed the PAT, then missed the 2-point conversion the next time (not a good start). They were up 12-0 and then gave up 23 unanswered, Jags scored on 6 straight possessions. Jacksonville set up to punt, but they ended up getting a 1st down due to a 12 men on the field penalty. Micheal Dean Perry was slow getting to the sidelines. Jacksonville got a FG due to that penalty, which turned out to be the difference in the final score. A nightmare day for a team that went 13-3 and had AFC homefield advantage throughout.

    So it can be done!

I would love to see Pierce getting that many carries, splitting the time with Rice. I know he didn't practice yesterday though so I wonder what his injury status is?
