It's funny, I haven't heard anyone call Kyle Shanahan a "genius" since around 5:30 on Sunday.
But in all seriousness this is a sad day for the NFL, even if I can't stand that team. I hope he recovers as much as possible, but I'm pretty sure we've seen the best of Robert Griffin III.

Maybe on the football field, but that kid has a great future ahead of him in whatever he decides to do. He is truly gifted physically and he's smart. He'll do just fine.

I agree, a great kid, great outlook and attitude. He's a winner no doubt, he'll do well off the field.

No longer a double threat QB on the field, though. Those days are over. He's now just another Andre Ware or Rodney Peete.

Even a nimrod fan would know that the second year for an NFL QB is crucial for his further development in the offseason. RGIII will be missing this due to injury. They also will likely have to abandon the Read Option offense now which will require him to learn an entirely new offense - the one Shanahan used with Elway. I look for Cousins to start the season at QB now, as anyone with an ounce of sense would anticipate.

BTW, as I understand Peterson's was not a repeat injury to the same knee as in the case of RGIII. Apparently, you lack that knowledge despite all your bragging of how much you think you know.
You are such a miserable POS. I merely repeated what has been reported from people who spoke to Dr. James Andrews. He knows a thing or tow about these injuries. Now, crawl back in your hole of ignorance and let the adults talk about football.

That's a ridiculous assumption. He's still a kid and is getting the best care humanly possible.

Well, now you expect anyone reading your posts to be a mind reader? If that is true, maybe you should have indicated who you were quoting? If adults are ever talking football anywhere it would leave you out of the conversation. You are continually wrong about virtually every observation you make regarding NFL football and yet arrogant enough not to ever admit that even once you maybe were mistaken. This is why you receive this treatment. I cannot stand arrogant know-it-alls who refuse to ever admit they were wrong. You bring everything you get on yourself son.

I haven't been wrong about anything. You're the master of that. Sorry your Sirius guys didn't report what EVERYONE ELSE IS IS REPORTING. I guess guys like Ross tucker are too busy being pistol offense experts.

The guys on Sirius are certainly more of an expert than you are. Here is just another prime example of how you will never admit you are wrong about ANYTHING!!!

You were wrong about the pistol offense, wrong when you refused to believe me when I warned you RGIII was going to get seriously hurt because he didn't learn how to protect himself. Wrong, when you still think he is smarter and a better QB than Russell Wilson or Andrew Luck. You are even wrong when you refuse to admit you are living in denial. Please show me when you are never wrong about anything son? There is nobody who every lived unless of divine incarnation, who has never been wrong about anything!!! You have truly lost it~~!

Yes, I will keep listening to former players as for the most part, they are experts compared to me in their analysis of the game. However, I will also trust my own observations in most cases, after having watched games and players perform over a 48 year span. However, if and when I am wrong about something I will admit it, unlike you.

He explained he was quoting some else who was talking to one, whatever that means. Only he didn't state that or use quotation marks. He expects us to be mind readers.

Would suck if he doesnt play next year. Didnt the redskins give up 2 1st round and a 2nd round pick to trade down to get Bob Griffen?

Look at it this way, since the runt mortgaged the Landover's future on the garbage RB/QB there is a famous movie line you can always use.

They gave up 6 picks total, yes 2 first rounders to the Rams.

Which is a heavy price to pay for a team that has not drafted or signed FA's well over the past 20 years.

Who knows how well he'll recover. I certainly wouldn't rule him "done". Jamal Lewis nearly broke the single-season rushing record after his second ACL injury. Lardarius Webb tore an ACL in '09, then performed as well as almost anyone at CB in '11.

Remains to be seen how well he recovers from #2. Foxworth was a guy who never really managed to get all the way back. Jamal could make a decent cut from time to time, but he certainly wasn't a slash and dash type of RB. He'd adjust a little bit and either hit the hole, or run somebody over. CBs need to do more of the sudden change sort of thing. Griffin is like a DB / small RB hybrid that can throw.

What might be alarming... it seems that some guys are just more prone to it than others. Webb did it again this year. Jamal had one in college and one in the NFL if I recall correctly. Griffin is on his second bout already, and he's only 22. There aren't many cases I can think of off the top of my head with "mobile QBs" recovering from multiple major ACL injuries in the NFL to compare to. From one angle, you can say "He's young, he's equipped to handle this sort of thing". From another angle, you could say "He's young and he's already done it twice. Will it become LESS likely as he gets older?"

    Time will tell...
