Here is a link to a SI article which sums it up pretty well, not extremely optimistic, but pretty much as most analysts and most posters here figured:
It is noted that it is unlikely he will be ready for the start of the season and a real possibility he could miss the season entirely.

Anyone recall the knee injury of Willis McGahee prior to being drafted? And he returned and has had a pretty decent career...running the football!
Lets count again:
2012 first rounder 1
2012 second rounder 2
2013 first rounder 3
2014 first rounder 4
and one last time mathematically 1+1+1+1=3 I mean 4.
They gave up three becuase they got one in return. Sorry of that confuses you. You can say they gave up four to get the second pick but its inaccurate to say they gave up four to get Griffin.
If I were a Skins fan I would be wanting Shanahan's head. If I was the kids mother I would be gunning for other body parts. Coaches need to be the grownups.
He's an accurate passer because he is accurate. They run the pistol because it is effective and because the offensive line doesn't block well on passes.
Shanahan has always viewed players as expendable. Use them up and spit them out.
