    high school option offense ......

it will work in the short term as teams don't see it much ......

in the long run, running the option will take its toll on the running qb in the nfl ......

you redskin fans/trolls still want to argue this?........

That's a bit of a stretch. Getting two Hall of Famers out of three draft picks is a VERY rare occurrence.

I played 15 years. Never made to the NFL but played a few years in the CFL. You don’t expose your QB to the option and you surely don’t run it when your QB has on a big knee brace. Football is a violent game. In the NFL the rules protect QB’s in the pocket, take off and run at your own risk.

That must be why more and more teams are using it. You nailed it.

Pretty crazy that Griffin injured himself in the pocket.

If you call that a tackle. He got hurt this last time in the pocket. This idea that the pistol is a gimmick is not supported by reality.

Congrats. You're like the Eagles of the AFC. The Jets made it twice and even Tebow made it. Doesn't seem all that valuable when you come away with nothing.

Why wouldn’t you call it a tackle? The NFL is stilled ruled by slow footed pocket passers. The rules favor drop back passers. If your QB can sit back and pick apart a defense that’s what you do. You don’t run the option because of the speed of NFL defenses. How did that pistol look against the Steelers?

Remember in 2009 the Wildcat was going to change the NFL? In time defenses figure it out plus NFL players are just very FAST. The 49er and Seattle O line is better than Washington's.
One season and one major operation for RG3 is not a good return on your investment.

Don't want to see RGIII out for long. Great kid, great player. I even would like to see the Skins take control of that division for a while, despite the smugness of HAIL2BING.

This is very different from the wildcat. The pistol can be run by immobile QBs too.

Says the guy who thinks the pistol is a gimmick. Let me know when you learn about it. Hell, even Pittsburgh ran it with Big Ben a few times.

I guess I’m wasting my time. If anyone believes running the option doesn’t expose the QB to injuries they are delusional.
