Default Cary Williams Shutdown Corner??? *LOL*

Watching the Ravens Game Plan show and the host actually had the gall to say that Cary Williams has become a shutdown corner!!!

I don't know what games he has watched this year but the Cary Williams I've seen gets toasted on about 90% of the passes thrown to his side. Why do they think he continually gets picked on? Every OC out there knows that he is the weakest link on the Ravens defense. Yeah he has 5 picks this year but he is still the one that is constantly 5 yards or more away from his receiver when the ball is caught. I'm simply amazed that someone says he is a shutdown corner. BAHAHAHA!!!

Deon Saunders was the only true shut down corner .but their were and are lot of over rated and over paid corners just ask Andy Read big bucks with no return killing them for years to come

Well the game against Peyton I promise you he'll be the farthest thing mind The bronco's play calling are going after him. He's not a bad corner but but not shut down quality either The Ravens offered him a very nice offer but he thought he was worth more so he decided to play out his option. But of course he wants be a Raven as long as he get over paid But he not as good as Mc calister was in his prime or Starks I sure hope he prove's me wrong the rest of this year anyway

Shutdown is a stretch, but he's played better overall as the season's gone on. He played shockingly well in my opinion last year. So much better than he did early on this year, I was pretty surprised by it.

Bad corners take nothing and give a lot. He's become a give & take corner. That's mediocre at the least. Donny Brady, Antonio Langham, David Pittman (and several other '07 corners) were BAD corners. They gave EVERYTHING and took nothing. I think the play of Graham, Williams, and Brown have done a lot to help keep this team from getting run off the field defensively, like they did often in '07.

If by shutdown they mean that he plays so far off of the receiver that they don't try to get by him and instead catch the ball for a 7 yard gain and then he holds them up until help arrives and he is tackled for only a 7-8 yard gain, then yes, I agree. True shut down is a CB that doesn't get targeted much because they know he is in position to break up the pass. That is not Williams.
