If you don't want AWM to cloud the discussion, you probably shouldn't have such visibly angry white men discussing it on national TV..
It's so ironic and hypocritical of right-wingers to say this when the teabbaggers hate gays, blacks, and don't care about women's rights whatsoever.

It was a joke. We already went over that...remember? A joke isn't a suggestion.

You are wasting time having a conversation with Jeebus. He is not worth your time. Just read his posts over time and he comes across loud ,mean, angry and clear. Let him rant with his self.

They weren't putting anyone in danger. That was the point on their part.

You'd be terribly mistaken if you're referring to me.

Again, how are other civilians supposed to know that?? Most people haven't tapped into their psychic capabilities, so no they aren't going to approach guys walking around with rifles...Most reasonable people wouldn't expect them to. Especially not in today's world...

Most people will err on the side of caution and dial 911, and that's exactly what they did. ..can't say I blame them...

I see. That kid who killed all those peoe in Aurora: had someone seen him with his weapon in the parking lot of that mall, think calling 911 might have been a good idea?

It depends on if you think someone is acting rational or not. If you call 911 on people not committing crimes then you're wasting the police's time. The ironic part is that that the police here want you to waste their time yet complain when someone does.

I guess it is just a matter of whether or not you're afraid of guns.

It's not the gun I'm afraid of...it's the guy carrying it that would worry me. I thought people killed people?

Yes, evil people are the problem. Guns don't make people evil.

If it's a hunting town during hunting season you will see hunters with their rifles.

So of people who tote guns in public, how are people to know which ones are evil and which ones are not? "Acting rational" is subjective.

I would think most people would believe that walking around with a rifle strapped to your back (legal or not) is irrational behavior.

Okay, that's understandable...but that's not what we have here is it?

If they are scared of guns, I suppose. For me, fear of inanimate objects is irrational.

No but certain kinds of guns make evil people a bigger threat. In the 30s the govt got fed up w gangsters and machine guns. Machine guns were outlawed. When's the last time you heard of a crime committed w a machine gun? Is the inability to purchase a machine gun an infringement on your rights?

Well with all due respect, there is but one rational answer to that question.

I doubt it is the gun. You'd have more troubles with a psychopath with a revolver than you'd have with me and a Standard M1A rifle.

Yet the gangsters with machine guns had more to do with prohibition than guns. I do think the infringements here are wrong.

The rational answer is that evil people are the problem. When the government outlawed a rather normal thing, drinking, it created a whole class of violent criminals to serve a black market. I'd argue that the same is true for today's drug prohibitions.
