Default Dan Rodericks gets dose of reality in real world

The truth hurts despite Mr. Roderick's feel good ideology, but I give him credit for writing about it.

Kudos to Mr. Appel for trying to make a difference. The current generation of 20 somethings don't seem to have any real appetite for hard work. At $12/hr, I think he would have lots of turnover no matter who he hires.

Writing about what? Can you give a snippet so one might know which story you're talking about?

The link doesn't go to just one article - it goes to all DR's articles. A snippet would tell me which article of them he was talking about.

    Buzz--

Are you talking about yesterday's column about the furniture company?

Your OP is not very helpful as you give only an extremely vague reference to what you want to discuss, and then you link to a collection of Dan columns so we can't be which which one you want to discuss.

Reminds me of when I worked at a trucking company. Constant turnover.

It always amazes me how difficult it is for people to simply show up for work on time.

With all the men and women who have led responsible lives out of work through no fault of their own all bleeding heart Rodricks boo hoos about are hoodlums who have made themselves unemployable because of their crimes. It would be refreshing and so unRodricks like to read something by him where he actually helped to get a job for a recently discharged serviceman or woman who does not have a criminal record.

I didn't find your quote anywhere in the article. Did I miss it somewhere?

I pay for a subscription and did not realize this would be the result. What purpose does it serve for him to write it and no one read it?

Matt, why didn't the link go to the column? I pay for a subscription and this is the Sun Talk Board. I would think the board would at least allow the viewer a chance to view the column.

Go figure. If I was Dan I would have an issue with that.

Whatever happened, it appears you choose the wrong URL to copy. I have provided the correct URL in post #7.

sounds like a good guy overall, but...... a worker gets injured clearly on the job and in the scope of his duties, suffers a documented injury, and the owner thinks the worker should not file for workman's comp. benefits??????????

You make an excellent point. I think his objection is to the employee getting an attorney to handle his claim.

Well, I guess I can see how in a small company, management might take such things personally, but its more or less SOP I thought. A broken bone may not be as simple as it appears on the surface. I think it prudent for the employee to at least consult with an attorney. As for management, worker's comp. claims are just another routine/cost of doing business.
