Just another case of a derranged person getting all the fire power they need from a family member? Just like Sandy Hook.

And? I'm still not sure what your point was.

Any "approved" long gun (rifle or shotgun) can be legally purchased in MD by a citizen over the age of 18, including the scary-looking ones.
They should just bump everything up to 21. You need to be 21 to buy a beer, you should have to be 21 to buy a shotgun, rifle or assault weapon (rifle with fancy attachments).

So end the war on drugs. It is not like people illegally dealing drugs are going to legally follow gun laws. That dog just won't hunt.

According to the article, the shooter was 16. A prohibited person in possession of a firearm. BTW, it was also illegal for him to possess that weapon on school property, to discharge that weapon on school property, to brandish that weapon and threaten others with it and to shoot somebody with it. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he's already eligible for parole.

Clearly, the sensible thing to do would be to ban 30 round magazines.

It worked during Prohibition. No, need for guns. I guess you got a crystal ball.

I agree with ending the war on drugs... they may find another reason to shoot one another. Some may find legit jobs...

I agree. Had 30-round magazines, flash suppressors and barrel shrouds been banned then this wouldn't have happened.

[Kern County] Sheriff Donny Youngblood says the shooter is a student who walked into a class at Taft Union High School Thursday morning and shot the teen with a shotgun, and then fired at another student but missed. A teacher suffered a minor pellet wound to the head.

Youngblood says the teacher tried to get other students out a back door, then he and another staff member engaged the shooter in conversation to distract him, and convinced him to put down the gun.
Doesn't quite fit the gun nut narrative, does it.

Very complicated! It needs to end. First what caused these kids get screwed up and why didn't someone notice strange behavior.

Wrong, oh so totally wrong. You can take personal responsibility for your own protection and buy a firearm yourself, assuming you are not a convicted felon prohibited from legally acquiring one.

If you have not already taken a flu shot, do you want to avoid getting the flu or reducing your risk of contracting the flu virus this season?

Then stop whining and get a shot like the smart minority segment of the U.S. population.

Hold on, let me stop laughing, you think having a gun is some sort of inoculation against violence? Sure as hell wasn't for this lady, or this "gun nut celebrity." I don't think you can really sell that as a reason for having a gun.

Hold on, let me stop laughing at the naivete coupled with ignorance that believes more gun laws prevents more violence.

That folding stock makes that weapon so easily concealable. I know, I have one! When the stock is folded it's only about 2 feet long, 8 inches or so across and 10 inches deep. Fit's in your back pocket or purse with ease.
