"I am fully prepared to let Obama carry the battle, over guns, to the American people."

That, IMO, is absolute insanity. What do you base that absurd amount of trust on?

That is the elephant in the room being ignored.

Either way, legislation should not be based on their actions. Doing so is a cheap, easy soundbite way of governing, while ignoring the thousands of deaths each year in our cities.

95% of America support background checks.
    don't you mean 589 Americans?

This poll was conducted by telephone from December 14-16, 2012 among 620 adults nationwide

I don't recall any uproar for gun control based on 200+ dying in Baltimore City every year. You know as well as I do this isn't about every day killings pepper, it's about mass shootings that these "background checks" wouldn't have prevented. the killings in Chicago aren't done by law abiding citizens who bought their guns legally. Come on man

I guess we are. To me this just feels like feel good legislation so a pol can say "look I did something". I'd pass any background check thrown at me. How is that stopping me from killing someone if I chose to do so?

This poll conducted before the election had Obama up by 3 points. Obama won by 3.7 points. It was a poll of 2,345 likely voters. That one was pretty accurate wasn't it? I learned how polls work back in high school. It is simply a sampling just to get a general idea of where America stands on certain issues.

    It's ok, I don't expect a response.

Polls are always that accurate , correct? I recall Gore polling ahead of Bush, how'd that work out? 6 months from now when this shooting has been forgotten like the rest, those poll numbers will look totally different. And once again, a background check would not have prevented this incident or most incidents like it. Most mass shootings are done by law abiding citizens

If a poll showed Obama up 95% to 5% you think there is a chance he'd lose?

It also depends on how the poll questions are worded.

95% is pretty clear cut. Sorry. CNN is a respected polling firm.

Exactly and when asked. I'm sure if you asked that same question after every mass shooting you'll get a similar number, but 6 months later, you'd get a different one

Again, 95% is pretty clear cut. Sorry. If a poll showed the majority of America opposed an AWB righties would be all over it. It's hypocrisy.
