    Default NBC hypocrites

I find it very hypocritical of NBC and its stance on guns but sponsor the largest Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show. Shows on the NBC network like Hardball, the Ed Show, Rachel Maddow and the Last word all take the hard left anti-gun stance but their network then turns around and supports a gun show.

This is not a gun show in the traditional sense, it is a trade show that retailers attend to see new products, programs, promotions etc. It is NOT open to the public.

And the stance that some NBC talent has taken calls for an end to the gun show loophole, tighter and universal registration, an end to high capacity magazines--these things have majority support and are not far left beliefs.

    Hi Ms. Maggie

You're right, it's not a gun show in the traditional sense. It's the mother of all gun shows.

It's not open to the general public, but it's focus certainly is the sale of guns and gun related stuff to the general public.

NBC is owned by Comcast which is NOT a left-wing corporation...

If it's not open to the public then it sounds more like a trade show for business people in the gun and hunting industries.

    FOX Hypocrites

OK and Fox News is the most conservative of the news channels But Fox Entertainment has some of the most sexually explicit TV shows.

Who then sell their wares at typical gun shows. Sales to the general public are the reason trade shows for any industry exist.

If you support or show your stuff at a trade show, you obviously support sales down the line.

On its website, NSSF said, "Any SHOT attendee will tell you the show is more than about selling and buying; it's a powerful display of industry unity and its resolve to meet any challenge affecting the right to make, sell and own firearms."

(edit: it's the reason most trade shows exist. Guns and shooting type trade shows would be in that group, unless they only deal in military hardware)

Oh I understand that, do believe the term "gun show" in the vernacular means a place I can buy a gun, all too often without benefit of a background check. And I do see hypocrisy in this.

I agree but as I mentioned earlier, the corporate owners of NBC(Comcast) are not Libs and likely don't endorse the opinions of MSNBC

I don't recall any of these people saying all guns should be banned. I don't know about the others, but Shultz is a hunter. He's mentioned it several times on the show. You may be used to hosts doing what the network dictates a la FOX and their hosts promoting and even appearing at "grass roots" tea party events.

If you've never been to a gun show, or have never bought a gun at a gun show, then I guess I could understand the confusion about the term.

In todays climate, theres so much crap being tossed (as relates to terms) that it seems lots of people are being intentionally misled by agendas..

In Maryland (and everywhere else, IMO) "gun show" means a fairground or convention type environment. Here, it's the state fairgrounds, or the fairgrounds in Howard etc...

When you say, " in the vernacular" it makes me think that maybe you assume the term "gun show" might also include some sort of informal gathering or something like that. Not so..It's not a random term, but actually describes a specific, sanctioned event.

It's not like "car show" which might be a club at a mall parking lot...
