No, the scoreboard confirms that fact.
Take that Elway!
I think CHOKE is a very fair accusation for the Broncos, especially the coach who was afraid to try to win the game in regulation. He had Peyton Manning, all his times out, and 30 seconds (maybe 4 - 6 pass plays) to get in position for a winning field goal.
How about the highly rated Miller and Dumerville not laying a hand on Flacco until OT? Or Bailey trashed by Torrey Smith? Or Manning coughing up 2 INTs and a fumble? I think their utter destruction of the Ravens last month may have worked against them.
But while we can call them chokers, let's not overlook an incredibly gutsy performance by nearly everyone on the Ravens (special teams can hang their heads), high altitude, freezing weather, hostlile stadium, facing a legendary veteran, hall-of fame QB and the #1 seed team. I think having the deck stacked against them is what helped the Ravens rise to the occasion. I hope they're underdogs next week as well. Go Ravens!
I posted this on another thread, maybe it is better served here:
What I fail to still understand is why no stories that I've come across has mentioned the Bronco's record as it relates to their schedule this year. Their 3 losses in the regular season were all to playoff teams. All of their wins were for the most part against losing teams, including 2 against The Chiefs and 2 against The Raiders, and one each against the likes of Carolina, Cleveland and Tampa.
The Broncos deserved to be in the playoffs, but they were relatively untested.
90 yard punt returns and 104 yard kick returns are pretty good gifts. Just like a safety should never let a receiver get behind them with 30 seconds left, no time outs…after the punt return Holliday should have never had a chance to touch the ball again. I haven’t heard it mentioned but I think when the safety saw Joe scramble and step up 65 yards away…I doubt he thought Joe could throw it over his head.
Well thank goodness the Seahawks beat the Redskins. Wouldn't want the lesser team advancing, right?
Maybe games should be played on the computer, then you'd be happy. You'd punch in some codes, run a program and the higher seed would advance. That would be a lot of fun, wouldn't it?
woulda, coulda, shoulda, didn't......game ain't played on paper....
if the ravens kick coverage teams stays in their lanes...Broncos don't score two gifts...If Flacco hit Smith after he abused Bailey for a 2nd time, the game doesn't go into overtime....football games are full of instances where one person's failure is another person's success....The Ravens won because they capitalized on their opportunities better that the broncos did...plain and simple...to try and twist it any other way is just some people trying to downplay the Raven's success....
Hey kenskin, go away!
They do? Got proof?
The first Manning INT was on the WR for not catching it. The second was a good read and catch by Graham. Manning didn't have a great game and his arm seemed weaker than usual but you're simplifying something that isn't simple at all. Either you are dumb or haven't watched football for very long.
Flacco's TD's were things of skill, as were the WRs out running their defenders.
Denver may be the better team but the Ravens didn't receive any gifts.
Rahim Moore. Was there another player who blew the game on his own?
