He deserves to be and he deserves to be paid. But he still can be maddening inconsistent. I do love how he can hit the switch to take it up a notch in the 2 minute office and the playoffs.

I have certainly expressed concerns about Joe Flacco, but I'm no hater and have never suggested he is not worthy of being the Ravens QB. He has often proven himself to be able to rise to greatness, I just wish he had fewer occasions where he looks like the game is too much for him. The guy has awesome tools - strong, tough, poised, with just an incredible arm. I would suggest that Caldwell has been a positive influence on him, both as a QB coach and OC.

I think it is worth noting that his level of play improves dramatically when the OL is giving him some protection. The configuration of that unit that has been on the field for the playoffs is really doing the job. Denver has about the league's most formidable pass rush, and they hardly laid a hand on Flacco.

155 Yards rushing against the Nbr 3 ranked defense!
One sack (and that one a coverage sack)!
Flacco standing tall in the pocket and cutting the Broncos secondary to ribbons!

I'd say the OL earned their pay this week!

To me that's the key. What baffles me though is a lot of us fans have been asking for that configuration for well over a month now. What was Harbs seeing?

Glad to say I've been calling Joe a top 10 QB for the 5 years he's been here. He'll be in the "elite" category after he wins the Superbowl.
