Default Should the 4th Amendment be repealed.

Specifically for the purpose of government looking into the actions of people who not broken any laws.

Why in God's name would we repeal the 4th amendment, its the only thing that protects us against unreasonable searches and seizures, along with requiring any warrant to be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause.

From what I'm told, public safety.

You should educate yourself on the 4th Amendment and the word "unreasonable".

Should the 4th Amendment be repealed.

Fourth Amendment – Protection from unreasonable search and seizure.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

    ----------

None of the Bill of Rights should be repealed. Like good policies, they are beautifully and broadly written to stand the test of time. What's problematic is defining terms like "unreasonable" and "probable cause".

Of course, the big problem is when government servants forget they serve ALL the people, and bend the definitions to support a particularly liberal or conservative position. This is a great opportunity to practice moderation, if you can define what moderation means!

Is exercising a civil right unreasonable for you?

A de facto repeal has already happened.

Inland border stops, automatic license plate checking, face recognition software, DUI checkpoints, "stop-and-frisk" stops, etc.

Do you think the loss of freedom here has made you safer?

Trading freedom for the appearance of security has never worked.

All this because we dared to think about reigning in the gun establishment.

All this because the progs are on a power trip. How many more civil rights have to go?

I was pulled over the other day and the officer said it was to check my license. He also checked to see if I had any warrants. Don't know if it was legal, but I know it was profiling

    Bingo.

All the things that they rallied and protested (and whined) against 8 years ago are just fine, A-OK today.

Warrantless searches, the Senate wanting to change rules (nuclear option), overseas troop deployment, Guantanamo, rising deficit, cronyism, gasoline prices --- these were HEADLINE EVENTS on Page A1, or lead stories on the evening news under GWB.

Under Baracka & The Queen - accepted and approved.

They forget that they will not always hold the White House nor the Senate, and the things that they overlook and/or approve today under proggie rule will give way to rightie rule once again, and they they will cry and whine about "unfairness" and will be supported by a complicit media, and lots of former Obama-ite sheep.
