Yeah, there are a lot of gullible voters that believed his lies.

I don't think that's it-- I mean, he lies, yes, and I can't stand him, but I think he is more or less doing and governing as the majority of the electorate-- or at least those that vote---- desires. I think the last election proved that.

Ken, you are one tough guy. My father serviced in the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion during WWII.

Ken, I served in the early 70's

3d Bn, 21st Inf Regt and battery B, 3d Bn, 82d Field Artillery Regt which had been stationed in Danang
Mortar platoon in 72/73? I was in country in 72/73 and there were no ground pounders left, at least that I was aware of.

You must not be talking to the right people since the majority of Marylanders elected him

Even though half of Maryland voters say they approve of the job Martin O’Malley is doing as governor, they reject the notion of his moving into the White House by a 2-1 margin, the Baltimore Sun reported Monday.

However, pollster Steve Raabe, who conducted the survey for the Sun, said the numbers don't necessarily reflect how voters would view an O'Malley candidacy as the 2016 race gets closer.

My comment is in response to that October 2012 article about a poll that indicated "half" of Marylanders approve of the job O'Malley is doing.

O'Malley was reelected two years ago and much of his campaign was to attack Ehrlich's "fees and taxes". So what did O'Malley do but raise taxes and fees.

O'Malley is a smarmy liar and I repeat, I haven't talked to a single person that thinks O'Malley is doing a good job.

well, maybe you don't talk to demlibs, who make up a majority of the MD electorate. Demlibs think O'malley is doing a good job, because he is governing as they want him to.

I probably haven't talked to anyone who has told me that O'malley is doing s good job either, but I tend to talk politics with those that are close to my own viewpoints. Those acquaintances and friends that I know are of the liberal persuasion, I usually don't talk politics with.

Not at all. Just saying that you can accomplish the same result with a semi-automatic handgun that you can with a semi-automatic AR-15 - you just need to reload more often and you can do that in a matter of seconds. Now, if your intent is to take out multiple targets quickly, then you should be looking at an M-16.

Reagan did send the 82nd, if memory serves me right, into combat on Grenada. Must have been either before or after your time with it.

Little confusing. You say you were in Country, i assume you mean Vietnam in 72/73 and there was no infantry left there at that time. OK. But then you say you were in 21st inf. Does that mean when you were in 21st inf. you were somewhere else than Vietnam, like Korea maybe.

I served after. I was in school at Florida St in the fall of 1983. In the winter of 84 I joined the Maryland National Guard and enlisted on active duty in the spring of '85

And you did not know it would be peaceful times when you signed on the dotted line.

No thanks needed but definitely appreciated. I felt indebted to those who served before me

If y'all don't believe that poll's findings, how about this poll?

"Eighty-eight percent of voters polled think background checks should be required for people buying guns at gun shows. As for an assault weapons ban–58 percent favor it, 40 percent oppose. It’s almost certain some legislation will pass this session."

    http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2013/0...t-weapons-ban/

Gonzales was dead on, almost matched the last election results exactly with their pre-election poll in September.

I didn't believe them then with their results of 68% in favor of ream Act, and some other issues, but I'm a believer in them now.

Other findings include 54% approval for O'Malley but only 25% think he should run for Prez, the DP is favored by more voters than oppose it, and near universal opposition to a gas tax.
