Default Is Peyton Manning Most overrated QB of all time

8 times Manning has lost the only post-season game. His record in the post-season first five years 0-3. Postseason record overall 9-11. If Flacco winrs the next two games he will have as many wins as manning in his entire career. Tebow had a win with the broncos in the playoffs last season. And he had a pretty good record as QB with him in there.

Those old colt teams that Manning lost with in the playoffs were stacked. Awesome wide receivers, amazing offensive lines. great pass rush and total defense.

Hey, at least he's not as bad as his old man.

    No.

I'm not a big fan of Peyton, but he's got 30-some NFL records and a championship. He doesn't have a good track record in the playoffs, but he has nothing to prove either.

And yes, it is funny to see all the comments on the internet laughing at Denver fans about how "Tebow won more playoff games as a Bronco than Peyton". But Tebow beat the Steelers last year, this Ravens team is better than the 2011 Steelers.

And Ray Lewis has called him one of the greatest QBs of all time, so that's got to mean something.

I can't tell you who the most overrated QB of all time is, but it's not Manning.

    Not at all.

He is a bonafide HOF QB who has a ring. He will be in the discussion for the best QB ever but he could have been so much better that there wouldn't even need to be a discussion.

No he is just not good as a favorite or in the cold. There was something wrong with his arm in the 2nd half and O.T.

Considering Marino never won a SB, so I think he outranks Peyton in the overrated category if we're going by post season performance. By the way, his Colts defenses consistently ranked in the bottom of the rankings. Look it up

Manning is one of the best NFL QBs in the history of the league. But it's a team sport. Unitas was incredible for his time, but didn't win a title every year. Marino was tremendous, and never won a title.

Eli Manning is NOT a better QB than his brother Peyton. But he has two titles and Peyton has one. Eli isn't better than Marino, who has no rings. We saw what happened to the Giants this year when their pass rush and running game weren't dominating opponents... Eli wasn't able to magically lift them to glory.

Funny thing is... the year that Manning actually WON a ring, he didn't play very well in the playoffs. But his defense, which was incredibly flawed through much of the regular season, discovered how to defend the run for one magical month. If they don't get FOUR take-aways here in Baltimore, and Vinatieri doesn't bounce a long FG off the cross-bar, he probably doesn't have any rings as of yet. It isn't tennis or golf... no QB wins a game by himself. For all the accolades and numbers the guy has put up... I remember him saying in Jan. 07 that one of his proudest moments was completing a short but HUGE 3rd down pass to Clark (?) who was in tight coverage with Corey Ivy.

no, not even close. He's in the group at the top with Unitas, Montana, Starr and Brady.

IMHO, the most overrated Qb of all time was Namath...

The Irsays never had a very good defense or special team coverage during Manning's career. He had a clutch postseason kicker in Mike Vanderjackitright, who missed a winning FG in OT against Miami, and a tying one against Pittsburgh.

Quit listening to the Real Housewives of Bristol (loved that ESPN description on another thread).

John Salley won two NBA titles in Detroit, one with Chicago, one with the Lakers. James Edwards won two with Detroit, and one with Chicago. Both were integral parts of the teams, but not THE integral part.

Patrick Ewing never won a ring.

Of the three, who was the better player?

Or...Carl Banks won two Super Bowls with the Giants. Ray Lewis has just one Super Bowl ring. Who is the better LB?

    Namath delivered a Super Bowl.

The most overrated QB of all time is either Tim Couch or Jamarcus Russell.
