    Default SB Matchup question?

I think this year the media/NFL is probably hoping for a Harbowl. The reason I think that is from what I have listened to and read, alot of people are tired of seeing the Patriots in the SB, Atl, well they haven't been interesting since Jamal Anderson and the "Dirty Bird". I just think that with the whole Ray Lewis retiring, (and of course the whole Atlanta thing) the Harbowl angle, Colin Kaepernick storyline, I just think this would be the matchup they would prefer. An Atlanta-NE SB would be ho-hum for the media and the NFL imo.

The preferred matchup from a ratings standpoint is NE/SF. Two franchises that routininely draw high ratings. If people are tired of watching the Patriots, it hasn't shown up in the ratings. It would also be a rematch of what was a very entertaining Sunday night game this year. SF got up big, and almost blew the game letting NE come back.

The media is frothing over NE/SF.

Their worst nightmare is ATL/BAL, but it does provide some good shorelines with Flacco and Ryan coming from the same draft.

It may also make SB tickets a bit cheaper, too.

We'll just have to wait and see.

The media will never hope for the Ravens to make it to the Super Bowl, no matter the potential opponent, because the pundits & experts (most of them) hate the team and always have. If it wasn't because of Modell, it was because of Ray Lewis (most didn't like Billick either, for that matter). When Ray's gone, they'll think of another reason. The 2000 Super Bowl run was hardly a "feel good" story on "The Sports Reporters" and other shows like that at the time.
But us fans should embrace the hatred and not worry about what Vegas, Peter King & Colin Cowherd, etc, have to say about the Ravens.
