Perhaps we can sell all the property in DC government as well. Not like anyone's doing anything down there.

    A working link.

The problem here is that without the needed spending reform that the irresponsible Obama won't address then how will the government gets its cash flow in order? You'll have to wait for a future leader to get it done because Obama clearly won't lead on the issue. He is too busy being part of the government greed problem.

What % of your SS are you willing to give up? How about Medicare, how much more are you willing to pay for when it comes time for you to be eligible?

    All of it.

See, at my age, I'd rather have the money and invest it. I certainly could a better job than the government taking it out of my pay each week and squandering it on some bloated bureaucracy created by the DC clowns.

Based on all the processed foods passed on through the food chain, the contaminated meats and ignorant inspectors, I expect cancer to get most of us before that age anyway!

So SS and medicare will be a non-issue. (sipping a diet soda and eating a twinkie while writing)

All of it. When I do my retirement planning the amount I expect from SS is zero. It is a broken program that I figure will stop before I retire.

I don't know what to do about Medicare. That is FUBAR.

Ok, so rather than minting coins to solve our debt, perhaps we just sell the nation's historic sites to overseas interests.

We can still see them, they can't be moved... it's not like you can move the Lincoln Memorial!
Of course, Al Jeezera might wind up buying the White House? LOL

For the first part, 100%. Similarly to Semi, SS makes up approximately $0 in my retirement planning (I am 30). I am hoping to and currently on pace to reasonably retire before 60 without SS.

For the second, irrelevant. By the time I reach that age, I will be able to modify my body robotically and thus medicine will be a thing of the past.
