Default Morse to Seattle in three-team trade

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/0...h-nats-as.html

The Mariners, Nationals and Athletics have combined on a three-team trade that will send Michael Morse to the Mariners, John Jaso to the A's and a three-player package to the Nationals that includes minor league right-handers A.J. Cole, Blake Treinen and a player to be named from the Athletics.

AJ Cole is back in Washington's system and seemingly the key player in this deal. So, Washington gave up Cole when the team acquired Gio Gonzalez last year and then got him back by trading Morse to the A's who then flipped hm to Seattle for John Jaso. You never know how these deals eventually turn out, but I think the A's got the short end of the stick in this deal and could have gotten more of an impact player for Cole. But that's just my two cents. Morse is in Seattle, thus ending any speculation that he'd be traded to the Orioles.

I'm sad, cause he was the craziest guy in the clubhouse and kept the team so loose, at least we got Cole back.

and all Oak got in return was a 29 yr old catcher who hasn't played more than 2/3 of the season in any year of his short career. Billy Beane got taken on that deal.

The nats originally gave Ryan Langerhaus to the mariners for him, I'd say rizzo did a pretty good job getting something for him.

Two more right handers? I sure hope the PTTNL is a southpaw.

Could this mean a Matusz for Smoak deal is next?

Keep Matusz - he's the next coming of Andy Pettite, only better. We don't need any Smoak or Schmuck.

When the O's "braintrust" wake up and realize they need a DH, they can always pursue the Impaler from Venezuela.

The Mariner fan sabergeeks HATE this deal.

That alone is enough for me to love it.

Rizzo has made so e great decisions to position the Nats to be NL favorites to win the pennant. Angelo's has done a great job positioning the Orioles to regress after enjoying one of the luckiest seasons to professional sports.

I can't figure out why a yankee fan, such as yourself, is so frustrated that Angelos has run the O's into the ground. it seems like this would make you happy. yet you've dedicated a library of postings to complains about it.

Speaking of regression, here's a great example:

    2011 97 wins
    2012 95 wins
    2013 89 wins
    2014 84 wins
    2015 76 wins

That's the Yankees as the old dogs are put out to pasture.

    5-0

5 World Series Championships for the Yankees since the Orioles last won 1.

Yanks in for a period of decline, see sir, but they'll win an AL pennant before the Orioles do.

Jaso got on base at an almost .400 clip last year. Meanwhile, the A's gave up 2 guys at the A level and a PTBNL. You won't know who got taken until they play the games.

I'm rooting for Morse to win AL MVP this year.

I'm rooting for (but not expecting) the O's to sign the Impaler as DH for the 2013 season. If they do, he's a lock for MVP. DD, Buck are you listening? You should be based on your miscalculations (Betemit, Johnson,Thome) in 2012.
