Default Old Lady Gets Punched Dropped For Telling Customer Not To Curse In Store

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMw7qpIMS1s

"Lady sucker punches an old woman at the Hollywood, CA. Ross Dress for Less. The lady in question was talking on her cell phone very loud and cussing. The older woman asked her to please not use that language as she was in a public place and there were children present. The lady became agitated and first starting cussing directly at the old woman, then delivered a devastating sucker punch"

What makes me most sad about the whole thing is that this is way too common.

I'll bet that the thug's answering message on her phone contains the phrase "Have A Blessed Day".

If the offenders are caught, don't look for much jail time, if any.

The newspapers across the country are filled with repeat offender stories, I saw an article recently where an offender was involved in a murder and agreed to testify against the shooter and got probation.

The really sad part is that guy who agreed to testify was 45 years old and hand been arrested over 60 times, not a typo.

Reminds me of the woman in Baltimore County who tried to kill someone over a parking place.

Last year, I was on the MARC train in the afternoon, and a young woman in the seat in front of me was on her cell phone -- it was "f" this, "f" that, and mother******, and what not. Several of us asked her to stop -- she did not. When the conductor came by I asked him, "How much of her foul language do we have to listen to?" He looked at her, shrugged his shoulders, and walked on.

There does not seem to be any limiting authority on people such as this, none whatsoever.

These loud and foul-mouthed vermin would not happen to be of the on-the-dole variety of human pe(s)ts... would they?

It's amazing to me that there only people with an ounce of testosterone in them were the thug and the woman who tried to stand up for the victim. All of the men should lose their man card.

There are two potential issues of relevance. The first is learned helplessness. Why do anything when it is the role of government to do everything? The second, of course, is that the PRCa is a criminal firster state. Nobody would want the legal headaches that would inevitably come as a result of intervening.

As soon as a thug is shot, we read that where the police are investigating whether to charge the homeowner.

If someone in the store was a concealed weapons permit holder and pulled a weapon to intervene, likely they would have been arrested and of course sued.

As a society we have to decide, if we want the thugs protected or law abiding citizens protected, when they do get involved.

There should be a law, or at least an Executive Order, banning the slapping/punching of old women standing in line.

    Oh, there already is?

Then we should pass a NEW enhanced law against slapping old women, because then they'll know we mean business!

I hope the woman who was attacked called the police and pressed charges. There is nothing that she could have said to warrant that. I couldn't tell whether she was old or not from that bad quality video. And the store security is worthless.

From a legal standpoint does a store have an obligation to protect patrons who are invited to shop at their store from injuries, as result of criminal behavior?

I believe some hotels have been sued successfully in the past, when guests were harmed as result of criminal activity.

I worked in a retail cellular store for 9 years, we had to call police about once a month. One patron said he had a gun in his pocket and threatened a shoot fellow store employee. Police arrived and we gave them the license number and address of the patron, police said there was nothing they could do because no one was injured and we did not see the gun.
