Default Baltimore Shootings Double So Far in 2013

"Baltimore police say there have been 24 shootings in the city so far this year, double the number there had been this time in 2012."
...and that was before last night's homicide in southwest Baltimore when a 19-year old was gunned down:

25 shootings in 17 days...and it ain't even warm yet! Wasn't the new police commissioner supposed to fix this? After all, Bealefeld was bashed constantly on here for not doing enough. But, then again.............

It'll all stop once the President's 23 point plan is implemented.

I know! I can't wait, finally the answer to all of the gun violence in Baltimore City. I wonder how many guns will be turned in.

If I was to venture a guess, most of the shootings were probably carried out with handguns, not "assault weapons" with fancy attachments.

Not that it matters. Urban violence is acceptable in this country. Only when there is violence in the suburbs do people want gun control.

An "assault weapons" ban would have prevented......none of them.

In fact, of all the gun murders in the city last year, an "assault weapons" ban would have prevented.......none of them.

I'm interested to hear how many of the murders in all of Maryland were committed using a so-called "assault weapon" over the last 20 years.

I'll be we can count them with our fingers.

The liberal gun-haters have no clue, they seek the low-hanging fruit, using the deaths of children to further an agenda that does nothing to prevent the every day slaughter going on in their communities.

No gun control law could have prevented the tragedy at Shady Hook Elementary or at the movie theater in Colorado.

    Morning Ivan,

I would love to get a discussion going about that issue.

When someone (regardless of race, creed, color, etc) gets killed in the County, people are all over the issue and the County's States Attorney is seeking the death penalty. When someone is murdered in the City, nothing much happens and once caught, the suspect MAY get as much as a 'stern warning' in court.

Now there are those City residents who are fighting crime, but for the most part no one in the City seems to care. If you are a politician who only claims to be against crime, that is enough for the average City resident to support you.

    In other words: Huh?
