The Patriots have the blueprint for what every team in the league should be doing. You get a franchise QB and lock him up. Build a top notch line and the rest falls into place. Everything else is somewhat plug and play. You don't need a multi-million dollar RB. Get some young legs and plug them in for a couple of years and let them go when they want more money. (Green-Ellis) You just replace them. Build the system and just plug players in. The Ravens should follow this model. Anybody believe that with a good O-line that Bernard Pierce wouldn't have been just as effective as Ray Rice at about 1/4 of the cost? That money can be used to fill other needs. That's the way the Patriots do it. Don't break the bank for anybody except the QB. The rest is plug and play.

Bellichek is an expert at getting the most out of cast off talent and knowing when to cast off talent.

I see this game as a tossup.
This one game is for a trip to the SB, conventional wisdom be damned, stop Welker and that means the Ravens go to the SB.

It does not seem possible that a 5ft 9 inch receiver, can't be contained by 6ft plus DBs. Welker is NOT blazing fast.

Ever see a man 6ft/6ft 1 with long arms standing next to a man 5ft 9in, the physical difference is amazing.

We always hear why it is so difficult for DBs to cover really tall receivers and TEs, same principle should apply in reverse to covering really short receivers.

It would be hard for a safety to cover Welker on short or intermediate routes and would leave the defense open to the deep ball.

The Eagles have opened at home against the last three super bowl champs. This year they opened against the Ravens. We'll take all the karma we can get.

I'll go with a 37-27 ravens win today.

Ray Rice is the games MVP and the defense scores a TD.

Listen up, Ravens fans. There are a lot of fans in Pittsburgh who put the bad mouth to your team when we go against each other, and that is as it should be - given the rivalry we have. However, that said, know that there are plenty of Pittsburgh football fans, myself included, that would like nothing more than for the Ravens to lay a can of old fashioned whoop *** on Tommy Boy and his prima donna babies. Do our division proud. We'll be pulling for you this time around because you play our style of smash mouth ball both our cities appreciate. Best of luck to you and plant pretty boy in the turf. He needs it.
