It will force Obama to keep explaining why he has not received a required budget from the Senate.

House Republicans plan to vote next week on a three-month extension of U.S. borrowing authority in an effort to force the Democratic-led Senate to adopt a budget plan.

“We are going to pursue strategies that will obligate the Senate to finally join the House in confronting the government’s spending problem,” Speaker John Boehner of Ohio said in a statement today at the end of the party’s private policy retreat at a resort near Williamsburg, Virginia. “The principle is simple: no budget, no pay.”

I can't argue with that. The Senate needs to pass a budget

Kicking the can down the road. I'd rather see a shutdown and force both sides to fix the problems.

Looks like Obama called their bluff. Good. Now let's see if we can't get some serious budget work done.

A minority within the GOP are holding "we the people" hostage - not just the economy. Would it be fair call it "economic terrorism"?

Before recently, has there ever been a time where the debt ceiling has been used to hold this country hostage over spending cuts? The howl of the GOP over President Obama's raising the debt ceiling needs some historical perspective, which the GOP conveniently ignores. President Obama's done it three times. Three. Reagan did it 17. Where were the cries of outrage then? This 90 day extension is a silly game the House GOP is playing with our future. How can any investor be assured by a long term debt process that is based on political bias and 90 day extensions?

Bottom line, they are paid to legislate, not posture. We need to implement performance based pay for Washington. It is time for both Houses to get back working five full days per week, work out budgets in committees, pass the budget in their respective chambers and then reconcile the differences through compromise and then send the budget on to the President.
