Thumbs up President Obama Inauguration 2013

    The 57th Inauguration.

"President Barack Obama is kicking off his inauguration weekend with a National Day of Service Saturday, as he and his family members join thousands of others volunteering at events around the country in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday."

"The signature event on Saturday will be an all-day fair on the National Mall with speakers including Chelsea Clinton and actress Eva Longoria, musical performances and booths where people can learn more about local and national service organizations. They also can do a bit of volunteering on the spot."

I seriously doubt that MLK would have approved of the Black Panther Party.

True, the Black Panthers were formed in a time where the Black People of America had simply had enough. However King's movement was peaceful. Martin Luther King Jr was a pacifist, and was until the day he was assassinated.
The panters had no problems protecting themselves, even believing in the right to bear arms they exercise this right in accordance to the Californian Laws at this time by keeping the weapons in open view, but not pointed at anyone. This would have gone against every campaign ever run by MLK because he believed that it was only by using the American Judiciary System to advance the equality of Blacks that they could truly be accepted as Americans. However, both wanted the same thing equal rights.

Why? Thought you were a fan of citizens taking up arms against an oppressive government?

Why? Why what? Why do I think MLK would object to the Black Panther Party? I understand he believed in non-violence,thats why.

What does the reason for the 2nd amendment have to do with my statement?

I assumed you were a fan of MLK and not the Panthers. The Panthers share yr view of the 2nd Amendment. Ok a stretch.

Btw MLK and the Panthers agreed on most things, King was a major influence on Seale especially.

Who would have thought that it would have been a Black Republican making inroads so that Barack Obama could run?

Who would have thought that the Panthers' views on voter suppression would take a 180, intimidating people not to vote?

Twist it anyway you want. Most blacks in south during that period were Republicans, after the civil rights were passed, the Dixiecrats ran to the republican party. They were a group of Southern Democrats who, in the 1948 national election, ran a third party ticket that supported the Jim Crow laws passed by the democrats and racial segregation. Even so, they continued to be Democrats for all local and state elections, as well as for all future national elections.
Please provide real proof The Black Panther;s where intimidating people not to vote. The KKK has history of that BS. Why do you have to lie ?

    Lmao easy:

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulford_Act

    Mulford Act

The*Mulford Act*was a 1967 California bill prohibiting the public carrying of loaded firearms. Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford, the bill garnered national attention after the*Black Panthers*marched on the California Capitol to protest the bill.[1][2]*The bill was signed by California Governor*Ronald Reagan*and became California penal code*12031*and171(c).

Mom open your eyes. St. Ronnie had a problem with blacks and their right to bear arms.
