Second Inauguration of President Barack Hussein Obama - very nice historical event.

    Mulford Act

The*Mulford Act*was a 1967 California bill prohibiting the public carrying of loaded firearms. Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford, the bill garnered national attention after the*Black Panthers*marched on the California Capitol to protest the bill.[1][2]*The bill was signed by California Governor*Ronald Reagan*and became California penal code*12031*and171(c).

Mom open your eyes. St. Ronnie had a problem with blacks and their right to bear arms.

Excellent post. Reagan had no right to restrict anyone from getting a permit to carry a gun just because they are affiliated with a group. This is giving the government way to much power.

No, no, not sad at all. It was a political event. i can see through the theatricality of it. Were I a Republican (which i am not; nor a Dem) I'd be thinking, "Hmm, these guys aren't so tough." Boehner should be smiling; not crying.

You would think they would have seated Debbie Boehner next to Michelle Obama at the luncheon. The body language between Michelle and Boehner is interesting.

I think the choice of Schumer as the MC, underscored that "self-congratulatory" note.

They stopped showing the elites having lunch. Probably out of respect for the many poor Americans who won't be dining on lobster and Montana beef or drinking champagne. At least they didn't have to pay for all of that gluttonous through taxes.

Puertoricans can not vote for the president as residents of PR.

But they can if they become a resident in of the of the states. Then they can vote by mail as a resident of NY, Md, etc.

Nope. It's always a member of Congress. See list in wikipedia.

    http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/03/...augural-event/

ALBANY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Congress has chosen U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer to be chairman of the presidential inauguration next year, regardless of which candidate wins.

The Democrat from New York was chosen by congressional leaders for what is seen as a coveted and historic post in Washington.

Lmao this bill was singed in Cali not Mississippi. No Klan in California. Reagan signed the bill because blacks exercised their constitutional rights. I see why this gun grabbing racists is a [deleted].

Now that Obama has called for total equality for Gays in his spech, when can we expect these full rights and full equality? Or was that the same crock that he's been pedaling for 4 yrs to get re-elected??

Maybe he can issue executive orders overturning restrictive marriage laws and constitutional amendments.

Getting Congress to repeal DOMA would be a big help.

I think he was pedaling crock when he said he believed marriage was between a man and a woman.
