Default Security guard leaves gun unattended in restroom of school

Bad mistake on this officers part and fortunately no kid found it. As a vet, our weapons were stuck to us like glue 24/7.

    Lapeer, MI
"The security officer "made a breach in security protocol" and left an unloaded weapon in a restroom "for a few moments," said Chatfield School Director Matt Young. Young said the school has been in contact with local authorities about the matter and wouldn't discuss any possible repercussion for the officer, calling it "a personnel matter." Young also declined to name the security officer."

"The school recently hired the officer, who is retired from the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office, as a means to bolster school security. The effort had recently received attention in Lapeer and Genesee county media outlets."

It's obvious the security officer is an anti-gun nut trying to raise doubts about the use of "resource officers" recommended in Obama's EP list. He is trying to make the black prez look bad.

Well, I guess that settles it. We can't have security officers in school since this guy left a unloaded handgun in the bathroom. I'd like to be the first to thank this guy for his service and dedication. Did anyone happen to notice if he's a white guy?

Try thinking of the kids fly and goph, not guns. The kids are the most important.....not a piece of harden metal that's replaceable.

If you are afraid kids may get hurt in this dangerous world then just don't have any.

I am concerned about the kids. I don’t think any of the kids were in danger of being shot since the gun was unloaded. I guess its possible one child could have used it to pistol whip another child to death. That’s unlikely since most of the children were probably too young to have graduated from a police academy where they teach those sorts of skills. Besides the fact that the officer in question has a habit of misplacing things, I’m more concerned about the fact that the school hired a security guard who carries around an unloaded gun. What’s the point of that?
