Joe does better than average when he actually has time to throw the ball. Why not keep in VONTA LEACH to block on passing downs, and let the TEs go out to catch passes?

    Thoughts?

You mean Leach as the single back in 2 WR 2 TE set?

Or possibly with Rice starting out in the backfield, then shifting to the slot, rather than Leach going out for that 4 yard pass.

A full back block and a tight end catch the ball...that is brilliant! I think you just revolutionized the game!

    Idiot.

LOL. Except the Ravens do the exact opposite. They keep in the TE and send Leach out to catch passes. (Your stupidity really is bottomless.)

The pass protection has been very good the past two games, hence Flacco's excellent numbers. And it hasn't hurt that they're running the ball well, giving him those all important play action capabilities. I remember last year when Flacco was getting hit week in and week out and the team was trying to decide which tight end could ultimately block better, I said the hell with the tight end- just put another 300 lb body on the line. I doubt there's been too many coaches that have positioned an extra blocking lineman in the backfield but I think your thoughts are along those lines. For now though, as long as the current line continues to give him protection, I'd be hesitant to change anything.

Wait for Originalcletusfan's thread where he suggest you put people who can throw the ball far at qb and have fast people play wr.

He is a cyber-Lombardi! And he takes himself serious which is the funniest part of it all.

Enjoy him while you can, his head may explode listening to Billick today....assuming he watches the games which is hard to believe but that's a different story.
