Default Super Bowl Ticket Lottery for PSL Owners

Did any PSL owners on this board get picked for the random lottery to purchase two Super Bowl tickets at face value? My wife and I have separate PSL accounts, but we both received E-mails from the Ravens that neither one of our accounts was picked. If my name was picked, then I would have definitely bought the tickets.

I did see that the Ravens website did link to some trip packages to New Orleans (Prime Sports) that includes a ticket to the game. I reviewed them, and I think that I will pass.

Got the same "no luck" email. Wound up in my "Trash" folder in Yahoo email. So check your junk mail folders people!!!!!! And if you find it there, and you won, don't forget about me. I only want one ticket at face value.

In '08 (Jan '09) I got a letter in the mail right before the AFC title game saying I WAS selected.

Personally I think that "first right of refusal" should have carried over...

yea, I got the sorry email as well .......

had a travel and accommodation plan bouncing around if I had won .....

tickets on the resale sites are $2,000+ for nosebleeds and packages are $5,000 and up ......

if I had not gone to our first superbowl in tampa I might consider it but I going to sit this one out (unless i get a call in the next week or so with a great offer) ......

btw, in 2001 when my friend went down to PSI to pick up our tickets from the superbowl lottery there were hundreds of folks there with bags of cash willing to deal .......

so if you win the lottery you should go get the tickets even if you are not going to nola .......

down in tampa we were in the raven's bar (whiskey joe's) when a giants fan came up to our table and pulled out a wad of cash and offered us $5,000 for our 2 tickets .......

took us about 2 seconds to say no ....

I'm 0 for 2 with these Super Bowl lotteries. The odds are extremely low with 26,000 PSL owner accounts. I shouldn't have expected anything else.

yea, and there are very few tickets for the participating teams .......

having been to a superbowl I can tell you its a corporate event, planned years advance with the stadium, town, parties, flights and hotels almost completely filled before the teams are decided .......

we were lucky with tampa because it was drivable but it was crazy because new york could drive there as well and they brought big money to the table ......

I always look at it that way now and yesterday I was thinking it would have been worse if atlanta got in because that is drivable for them .....

I go to nola 1 or 2 times a year and have had a hard time getting rooms when a big convention was in town so I know this will be crazy .....

They readily admit that suite and club level holders get "more entries" in the lottery, so that's where most of the tickets are going.

I'm a 500-level guy and like I said, I WAS selected in '08 (when they sent letters to winners out the week BEFORE the AFC title game). So the little guy does get a chance sometimes...

OT but Plane tickets went from 450 to 1300 bucks from El Paso to Nola. I could get a name my own price for 300. When i flew out to MD in the fall flight took one day due to lay overs. I have to be back for class by 5:30 Monday.

    Here's my answer:
"A special random lottery was conducted this week to select a limited number of PSL Owners who would receive the option to purchase 2 tickets for Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, LA. We are sorry to report that your account was not selected to receive this opportunity. "

Does anyone know what the face value ticket cost (price range)?

I live in the NOLA area and am looking for a single.

The Super Bowl stopped being a game for the real average NFL fan to attend long ago. That's what makes last weekends game even more special. I also have a problem with suite and club owners being weighted in their favor.

no doubt, its a corporate event and not for the average fan or even the fans of the participating teams ......

all teams get tickets, in fact I know someone that used to go to a lot of them and got his tickets by calling other nfl teams and getting their unused tickets ......

I went when the ravens were there in 2001 but if my team wasn't in it I wouldn't bother unless I was able to partake in all the parties, golf tourneys, etc ......
