Yeah. Guessing if Romney had wanted to attend he couldn't have scored a ticket.

    Get serious.

Reading the story, it looks like Ryan was booed as he left the Capital to go to the swearing in ceremony. Doesn't appear that HuffPo lied in its headline and the President didn't call out Ryan by name. Sounds like thread fail to me but maybe my reading comprehension is off today

Yes, Bush was booed, but that's not what I was referring to.

I was referring to a similar act, to the so called "swipe" that Obama made at Ryan....Obama made no swipe, or back handed remarks towards anyone in the outgoing Bush Administration during the last Inaugural.

Hold Obama responsible for his own actions, and not those who act like idiots.

At the first Inauguation, there were close to 2 million people in attendance....did you honestly expect everyone in the crowd to be "classy? Really?

    It's unfortunate, but hardly unexpected.

I'm guessing Obama wouldn't have been there either if he wasn't the "man of the hour." Asked why the Obama's have never invited the Boehner's over for dinner, the response given was that Obama doesn't usually invite anyone over for dinner. You'd think socializing would be a key qualification for any President who wants to create a bi-partisan atmosphere in Washington. Especially one who promised a more bi-partisan approach if elected. Yep, fooled again.

Huh? I didn't say it wasn't the inauguration participants. I was just saying that HuffPo didn't lie about him being booed. I think you need to reread your posts. You said that Ryan was booed, which he was. In a later post you responded to a pundits interpretation that the President called him out, which he didn't by name. And you gleefully (my interpretation) suggest the HuffPo lied, which they didn't IMO.

That's your opinion and this is the place for it. I did not say that HP lied about him being booed.

"HuffPost's Ryan Grim reports that Obama got in a jab at Ryan during his inaugural address, attacking the former vice presidential candidate's "makers vs. takers" rhetoric"

And, in fact, he did take the jab. What he didn't do is call him out by name. I admitted that I was wrong about that.

If you were not so concerned about criticizing every word that I post, you would get it.

Obama as outgoing POTUS would have been there. And Boehner has been invited to the WH socially on a number of occasions and turned them down, The Obamas try to keep dinner a family time with just them and their kids. Which I applaud.

He's invited him to State dinners and Boehner declined.

Did you forget about the time Obama and Boehner had a golf date?

As the NY Times article pointed out, the "Takers" idea has been around longer than Ryan has been in politics. So it's a stretch to say that his comment was directed specifically towards Ryan...

The country needs a president who is more willing to reach out to both parties more often, especially after hours where visits are less formal. Maybe Obama should have thought of that before he took the job.

Obama doesn't need to schmooze with DC politicos. That's Biden's job. The POTUS traditionally remains above the fray.

You want Obama to beg Boehner to come to the WH for state dinners?

What's personal about a state dinner? How about a nice family barbecue?
