    Default Should Steve Bisciotti...

...re-hire Cam Cameron in some token capacity in order for him to be able to get a ring if the Ravens win the Super Bowl?

I heard this on WBAL today, and at first I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard. But the more I thought about it, and considering the fact that Cam DID help in the development of both Joe Flacco and Ray Rice, I decided it was a no harm/no foul cool thing to do.

    Thoughts?

no need to rehire him...they can give him a ring even though they fired him....I believe that they will (very quietly)....Bisciotti has always done the right things as owner and giving Cam a ring would be the right thing....

Is that within the rules, even though he got fired? If so, then definitely give him the ring.

No need to rehire him, and I am sure Cam wouldn't accept a pit hire. Just give him a ring.

That sounds like a classy move. They should do it. Cam had many faults here but I can't help but believe that he must have had SOMETHING to do with Joe becoming the QB he is.

Re-hire him? No. I don't think either side would want to do that. Give him a ring? I'd at least have it made up and offer it to him. He can decide if he wants it or not...

Agreed. And it does sound like the sort of thing that Bisciotti would not mind doing to at least give credit for past achievements, even though the decision was made to move in a different direction with 3 games left in the season.

Can you think of a reason why he would NOT want the ring?

You and I agreeing on something! What they say is true. Winning a championship does bring a city together.

Absolutely not. His incompetence cost him his job and would have cost us yet another chance at a ring had he not been fired. The only reason we are here is because he is gone. The only ring he deserves is the onion rings he'll be serving up at Burger King this year. Have fun coordinating fast food meals, you bum!

    Wasn't he fired for insubordination?

I don't believe it was insubordination as much as it was for being an idiot and being totally gutless in all of his play calling. Screw Cam Cameron. We would be playing in our 3rd Super Bowl this year if it wasn't for him

Pride. It's a good thing and a bad thing sometimes. I can certainly see someone saying "They fired me, I don't want anything from them! Except the money they still owe me."

This is by no means a defense of his performance in his role.

That's possible. By the same token, I could see him saying: "I BUILT that offense. They're still running MY offense. I DESERVE that ring if they win the Super Bowl!!"

    Just sayin...

I would say no and I'm a little surprised that you're ok with this, is Cam blackmailing you? LOL

LOL. I'm a little surprised myself!! When I first heard it, I was like: "W T F???!!" But then the more I thought about it, it kinda made sense. And if you've read my posts, I've acknowledged that Cameron did a good job acclimating Joe to the NFL. My beef with him was that he'd hit the point of diminishing returns -- similar to Brees and Rivers. But that doesn't totally negate what he accomplished. I believe the Ravens would have gone further if he'd been replaced 2 years ago, but still...the Ravens WERE 9-2 THIS SEASON, and are still basically running Cameron's offense, just through Caldwell's tweaks. And it's not like Cameron got fired in the first couple of weeks, or even at the bye. There were only 3 games left in the regular season, so doesn't he get credit for anything this season?

I wouldn't mind giving him a ring but no way in hell should he be hired back, he would mess up a good thing. Doesn't matter anyway he's not coming back so I'm not stressing this, debate closed LOL.
