And getting more republicans elected in 2014 may tend to slow down any chance of advancement for gay people.

It was a very very good speech. And it's also nice to see that at least some folks around here are able to view things objectively.

Seems some have their partisan blinders permanently glued to their faces and will never be capable of real objectivity.

Obama goes liberal in inauguration speech

When even the Washington Post calls the speech a "iberal agenda", you have lost your lying argument before it starts.

    lol, too easy.
That's hardly your characterization of the speech. Where did the Post mention the far leftist agenda?

But keep digging; you're doing a better job of discrediting yourself than I ever could.

x100, sad that you can't see it in your your own bias.

Read it. The link is there. Then come back and apologize for your lies.

The problem with you rather idiotic analysis of his speech is that it assumes, and quite wrongly, that a liberal progressive speech and a speech that uses the themes of "country, unity, American ideals, etc." are mutually exclusive.

Yeah, that's because it's not there. I'm not claiming that I never show any bias, but I'm far from the kind of partisan who starts with the premise that the "other side" is always wrong and works back from there. I think my posting history over the last few admins speaks for itself.

Incredible, absolutely incredible. Fortunately for you, bald-faced lying is not a violation of the TOS.

Neither "Progressive" nor "Liberal" equals your term: "his far leftist ideology"

As to your claim that the speech did not touch on "typical Presidential Inaugural themes of country, unity, American ideals, etc.," as you put it:
Today we continue a never-ending journey, to bridge the meaning of those words with the realities of our time. For history tells us that while these truths may be self-evident, they have never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it must be secured by His people here on Earth. The patriots of 1776 did not fight to replace the tyranny of a king with the privileges of a few or the rule of a mob. They gave to us a Republic, a government of, and by, and for the people, entrusting each generation to keep safe our founding creed.

For more than two hundred years, we have.

Only in the mind of a far leftist liberal.

Of course, no mention of lagging economic growth, staggering deficits, high unemployment, high gas prices, terrorism, etc - but highlighting gay marriage, global warming, illegal immigration forgiveness, and other leftinista topics - warmed the hearts of his targeted audience, just like preaching to the choir.

    Your bootlicking knows no bounds.

    Indeed.

It was a crap speech filled with so called "Progressive" Pablum for the masses. Self serving and self indulgent I seriously doubt anything good will come of it. He still secretly believes he was born in a manger and Chris Matthews in still "masturbating" to pictures of Obama. When something truly positive in terms of real outcomes gets done let me know and I'll be the first to admit I am wrong.

I cannot imagine what it's like to be as self-loathing as you are.

Good for Mr. Obama. Perhaps he can pressure the Chicago police to find the murderers of Donald Young and Larry Bland, openly gay members of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Perhaps he can even order Eric Holder to initiaite a a Federal Civil Rights investigation.
