Wow I figured this was an old story when I first saw it, just unreal.

Yea one guy actually shut down his twitter account because he got jumped on by so many Ravens fans..
I guess I'm a dinosaur, but I don't get the whole twitter thing. It is so narcissistic to assume everyone gives a flying F about what you think or where you are. Having no filter between one's random brain droppings and the whole world is not conducive to civilized communication, evidently. Just put a cork in it. Nobody will miss it.
Facebook isn't far behind. I don't have a Twitter account for the reasons you specified and my Facebook is used very sparingly. I don't ever login to tell everyone where I am and what I'm eating.
You're not a dinosaur, but rather ahead of your time. Twitter and FB are fads that will fade quickly in years to come. Everyone who uses this crap will catch up to you (and me).
That's half of what Twitter is. The other half is people who seem to get real great thrills sending tweets to entertainers, sports figures, etc. and wanting them to retweet back to them. It's like they suddenly feel that they have a personal connection to this person because of a retweet. Really?
Agreed.
How can people read the multiple daily mundane dribble on facebook?
I went to lunch today and had a hot dog and a coke.
Its getting cloudy, I hope it does not rain.
Sure is cloudy, it could rain.
My sister had rain at her house yesterday.
Oh my it is raining now.
Facebook posts should always be in one of three categories...
1) big news that people would care about, or a fascinating story of some sort (I'm pregnant; I had a baby; I won the lottery; Ray Lewis just showed up at my door with a bible and a dance; etc.)
2) funny; no, really, really funny; like the bad lip reading video
3) if you're an attractive female... scantilly clad photos...
Again I had both but gave up FB almost 1 1/2 years ago and twitter last year. Both are a complete waste of time and the nastiness of people on both lead me to dump them.
twitter has more intelligent purposes, but these aren't the things that get headlines. I had no interest in twitter until I went to a conference last summer. before then, I held the same opinion as you. then I was introduced to twitter as a tool for sharing information beyond, "I'm taking a dump right now".
I was going to post about this.
The Ravens need to put the Patriots behind them and start focusing on SF.
Don't let those sore losers in NE get under your skin.
Just remember who's going to the Super Bowl.
Winning is the best revenge.

Ravens' Smith says Pats fans harassed him about dead brother
It's been a day and a half since the Baltimore Ravens beat the New England Patriots to advance to Super Bowl XLVII, but several Ravens players still seem more focused on the Patriots and their fans than on the San Francisco 49ers....
...The vitriol between the players, fan bases and even players' wives has been more brutal than any playoff rivalry in recent memory. And as heartless and inappropriate as some of the barbs directed at Smith likely were, it doesn't make any sense at this point for the Ravens and their players to devote any more attention to New England until the Patriots come to visit M&T Bank Stadium during the 2013 season.
After the San Francisco 49ers beat the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, all the team's players seemed to immediately focus their attention on the Super Bowl, as opposed to Atlanta. And it's understandable that the Ravens' win was more personal, with the team looking to avenge last year's AFC Championship Game loss and strike down whatever remained of the so-called Patriots dynasty, but the window to dwell on the conference win and its aftershocks should probably be closed by now....
Well there is another FB use: family photos and videos. I have a niece in FL who has two little boys, enjoy her postings. Beyond that, my kids post bizarre can-you-top-this stuff that is pretty funny, and not infrequently disturbing! Have a Twitter account I used once just to see what it was about. I know I'm not that interesting!
