    Default Brady Apologizes to Reed

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...gn=Twitter_atl

Tom Brady's karate kick to the thigh of Ed Reed in Sunday's AFC Championship Game was not a high point for the New England Patriots quarterback.

Brady appeared to kick the Baltimore Ravens safety after sliding to safety, a move Reed says the veteran passer has since apologized for.

I'm sure some part of the conversation included Brady saying... "Ya know, you won't have to worry about me trying to kick you next year if you're with the Patriots. Just sayin..."

Pollard is the one who blew out his knee a few years ago so I'm quite sure Brady is scared to death of Pollard.

Brady to cough up $10K for that move.

The whole incident seems blown out of proportion. It looked like Brady instinctively put the leg up to protect himself from the oncoming Reed -- which isn't an unreasonable reaction. It didn't look like there was any ill intent, and, unlike Cobb, Brady isn't known as a dirty player.
I might believe that except for what looks like a little extra leg extension at the end. And wearing low socks is evidently a more grievous action. Just ask Gore.

Ed Reed is much more friendly and respectful to the great Tom Kicking Brady than he is to his own quarterback. They were playing his interview the other day from last year when he publicly took Flacco to task. Did he ever seek such a respectful and friendly (obsequious?) understanding with Flacco last year or this year after publicly critcising and embarrassing him?!

No, this is just an example of a couple of the NFL's elites, or actually ex-elites slurping each others arses. Isn't it great that "the future hall of famer Ed Reed would go to the defense of his opponent Brady for a ridiculous and shameful dirty play?! Back up your own teammates Ed Reed! Are you capable? Or do you even care?

I don't think he should have been fined, but I wanted the damn flag when it happened.

Yea, wearing low socks is more grievous then trying to kick someone in the nuts.

If anyone watched the replay on NFL net last night, the appollogy was miked on the field right after the play. Brady went to Ed with a "sorry man" and Ed smacked is butt and it was over. No biggie.

I'm glad Frank Gore was fined $500 more than Brady was for wearing "low socks". Doesn't he know that the NFL is all about style?

was that a penalty type action? It seems like bad sportmanship. but no one, I was watching the game with, could come up with a type of penalty his ballet move fits into.

I'd say it falls under the banner of Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

I would assume so. but that's very subjective and arbitrarily enforced.

I believe that's the whole point in all of this. Other players would have most-likely been flagged. But this was Tom Brady, the flagless wonder.
