Default For those that are wondering

The words he spoke over and over again is found here:
(Isaiah 54:17) "Any weapon whatever that will be formed against you will have no success, and any tongue at all that will rise up against you in the judgment you will condemn.*.*."
Not really applicable to his circumstance but it seemed to get him through the moment. Of course if he was looking for a miracle that 70 yarder to Jones might fit the bill!

I disagree. It's totally applicable. He was talking about how "no one" said they have a snowball's chance in hell of beating neither DEN nor NE

He can do back flips, cry buckets of tears, stand on the mountain top and scream wild, crazy words of love as long as the Ravens win the Super Bowl. Who cares. However, it does make me laugh a little when I hear these players thanking God for victories. Why isn't God a Patriots fan? Or a Broncos fan? It's absurd but the media loves it.
    I don't know that I would laugh.

Last year after that awful loss that would've broken most teams Ray said that God doesn't make mistakes and that it was not meant to be so he Thanked him spite of the loss to the Pats.

There are people who have a lot more than me in life and I don't think that God favors them anymore than me but still I thank him for what he's given me.

The media means nothing to me because they try to paint a certain picture versus telling the whole truth.

    Just my 2 cents

He's enjoying his twilight with his team. You can always change the channel to American Idol......

    some people are just..grumpy...

he's earned every inch of his victory laps....

there is one thing that seperates the really good athletes from the truly special and that is the ability to make the people around him better...Ray does that in spades...the only other athlete that comes close is Jordan....

the NFL is about to lose of its marquee players and the media is going to cover that for all its worth....enjoy it and be thankful you got to watch one of, if not the, greatest MLB in NFL history perform in Baltimore for 17 years....

This could also be the last go around for another first ballot hall of famer in Ed Reed who has yet to get a ring and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a bit more attention than he has up to this point.

In the NIV translation the first part of Is 54:17 reads, "no weapon forged against you will prevail...," and I take it very literally (though I don't think Isaiah was referring to a football team specifically). Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, Knowton (sp?) Moreno and Stevan Ridley, Demaryus Thomas and Wes Welker, those are all weapons forged to defeat (Ray), and indeed they did not prevail. I truly do not believe God takes sides in football games, but the Bible assures us that He will be with those who trust and believe in Him, and if that gives a man and/or a team confidence and a winning edge, more power to them. It seems to be working.

My point exactly. But in not so many words. But somebody will take exception to anything posted. And yes he WAS NOT referring to football. It was for those faithfully serving him. At the time it was directed to Israel as long as they proved faithful to him. But Ray decided to use it as a rallying call. For those that buy in to it could provide an additional cerebral factor perhaps enhancing their play. If you were to ask Joe what he thinks he would probably play it down.

Anyone notice that the clown who started this thread has not posted any more comments?
