Thanks for not having that attitude, like I said I spent years working around the O-3/4/5's and they definitely had that attitude. They had no problem talking about civilians around me, I had a O-6 equiv. rank, and so many times I want to to blast these guys. Some of them(Flyboy56) never loose that "looking down their nose" attitude. I guess a lot of the Warrants had the same as the O's.
I didn't mean to disparage most good military types. I spent time with all the branches doing my job, some impressed me more than others.
Right capacity, not branch which usually is understood as one of the military services. Capacity can mean any service connected position to the government. I worked in Civil Service for a number of years and for 2 government contract companies as well. Both of which I did serve the country. But the military is different in that when you join you can be sent anywhere in the world with very little notice and be place in extreme conditions. It is why most everyone knows serving in the military is the ultimate way to serve ones country.
The only distinction I hold between citizens who are vets and those who did not serve, is when the drums of war are beaten.
I find it rather appalling when the drums of war are beaten the "loudest" by those who did not want to serve in the military.
Most of these none veteran hawks, also do not want their family members involved in war.
The list of hawks who did not serve is long and notable.
The only questionable fact in my previous post was when I quoted Mr. Obama ""The minute I found out what was happening . . . I gave the directive,” he said, “to make sure we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to do. I guarantee you everybody in the CIA and military knew the number-one priority was making sure our people are safe.”
I was dubious of the accuracy of his statement but gave him the benefit of the doubt.
By the way, have you come up with any credible source yet contradicting my assertion that Ty Woods and Glen Doherty were told to stand down?
THERE WERE NO ORDERS TO "STAND DOWN". NONE!
Ty Woods reached the consulate within 25 minutes. Doherty reached the CIA base in Benghazi a few hours later(He left his base in Tripoli to help rescue Americans in Benghazi)...

"While there were multiple errors that led to the final tragedy, there’s no evidence that the White House or CIA leadership deliberately delayed or impeded rescue efforts."
My children are my legacy.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The word is "accountable", dear. Your post stands self-sufficiently as a great example of why liberal comments are so often discounted. And if presidents who did not tell the truth were held fully accountable, this president would have been exiled to Guam within his first year.
Read your story again......"The senior intelligence official said that he doesn’t know whether Woods or any of the other team members agitated to go sooner but added that he wouldn’t be surprised. “I want them to have a sense of urgency,” he said. How do you arrive at the conclusion no one was told to stand down? There is no such confirmation in the article.
The article does establish that a drone had been diverted and was providing aerial reconnaissance by 11:11 PM, approximately 90 minutes from the time of the notification of the attack.
Soulflower's link came from the opinon section of the Post, so that tells part of the story right there.
Remember that pro-Obama media puff piece when they showed the cam video in the situation room, when Seal Team 6 was coming down on Osama Bin Laden? Oh, how heroic our president looked! If the live Situation Room cam was streaming video at the time of the Benghazi attack, I have little doubt that we would have found the room to have been entirely empty.
