Default 8 MD Players in Rivals 250 for Class of 2014

    http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecr...rivals250/2014

Players are not ranked, just listed alphabetically

Freddy Canteen- WR 6'0, 175 (Eastern Christian)
William Crest- QB 6'2, 195 (Dunbar)
Demetrius Johnson- ATH 6'2, 190 (Annapolis Area Christian)
Melvin Keihn- LB 6'3, 215 (Gilman)
Sam Mustipher- OL 6'4, 286 (Good Counsel)
Damian Prince- OL 6'7, 310 (Bishop McNamara)
Brock Ruble- OL 6'9, 309 (DeMatha)
Troy Vincent- DB 5'10, 181 (Gilman)

I'm surprised that Canteen hasn't gone to another school. ECA has been very quiet since football season. I don't even know if they are still functional.

Interesting that they are all from the privates except Crest. I have seen all of these kids play, definitely talented. A few are listed on potential more than what they have done on the field. On the field I believe that Keihn and Mustipher are easily the Tops in the class.

Things have been very quiet on the ECA front. I'm sure they are brewing something up.

ECA is still functioning... They are playing in the winter league in DE as FLASH Training.. Actually they have two teams in the league (winter league is 8th-11th graders) So they have attracted more players. I know there are allot kids wanting to transfer to ECA from schools in Md,DE and NJ.. What their plans are for next year I don't know for sure but as GA says they got something brewing.. I have heard of no kids trying to transfer out anywhere other than a rumor here and there.

I fully understand wanting to train with the FLASH program and wanting to be apart of that movement. But I find it hard to believe that a bunch of kids would want to transfer to a school that barely played any games last year and still have many questions on whether they will be sanctioned by the state. Kids want to play in real games.

I know that Delaware is probably out of the question for them and who knows what will happen in Maryland. As a parent, until the school is 100% sanctioned by a state, I wouldn't gamble with having my kid come over from another school. And this isn't me putting down what they are doing, I'm just being realistic.

I agree... I have no idea what they may be telling prospective students about their plan for next year and what those may be.. I just know a lot of kids are talking about going to ECA from Baltimore to New Jersey .. whether they actually pull the trigger and transfer is a different story.

I should have also said the FLASH winter teams do include players from other schools as well that may or may not be considering ECA. I know there are a few not sure how many..

Very good question. I could be wrong but I believe that the 2 kids Bigelow and Rodgers are already on campus at USC. At least I heard that Bigelow is there.

As long as they stayed enrolled in the National Connections Academy online curriculum they should be fine. National Connections is accepted as a alternate educational program to a traditional high school by the NCAA. The Clearinghouse looks at it as the same as going to any traditional 4-year high school.

As far as I know, ECA has never progressed to the point of being a traditional "brick and mortar" school. They simply have the students convene and take online classes. ECA was technically just a sports program branched of the nationally accredited National Connections family of schools.

National Connections Academy provided the education, Eastern Christian Academy provided the athletics.

ECA does a great job of getting players recruited but I wouldent want my boys going to something that is so unsettled.
