It was very obvious by the drive into work this morning that Howard County spends the majority of its operating budget on "education" - while main roads like RT100, RT29 and RT40 up to the Baltimore County line remained dangrously snow/ice covered and the ramps to/from these roads never saw a plow let alone salt, once crossing over the Baltimore County line, RT40, Rolling Road, Security Blvd., etc., were plowed and salted...and clear.

Way to go Ken Ulman. Remember this when this OWE'Malley-wanna-be runs for governor folks.

It was .5" of snow you big baby. Learn how to drive. In the town i grew up in up north we would get 5 inches of snow and not a plow in sight. A dusting of snow is not a big deal and does not warrant $10,000's of dollars in snow removal especially when it will melt in an hour or two.

I agree 100%. It's knee-jerk reactions like this that help make our taxes so ridiculously high.

All the roads you referenced are the responsibility of the State Highway Administration, not the Howard County Government.

Then explain or at least provide the link that states otherwise, why the Howard County Bureau of Highways typically plows these roads (routes)...when they show up.

Big baby? Maybe it was only .5" where your sorry arse lives but it was over that where I was, not that I have to justify my experience to you or any other know-it-all. And I'd wager I've been driving a lot longer than you've been sucking our air and in far worse conditions. As everyone knows, a dusting of snow can be more slippery and treacherous than 5" where traction is much greater. Another freakin' expert heard from.

Marylanders are giant puzzies when it comes to snow. If all the American troops were Marylanders at the Battle of the Budge we would be speaking German today!
