Not a good thing, he should retire.

Even at 35, Reed would likely draw a fair amount of interest around the league which could mean a very different look for the Baltimore defense next season.
Looking at his stats, not that bad this year. But watching every game, the constant missed tackles are a killer.

I could see Flacco sailing the deep ball over Reed's head.

He looked pretty good when he had Pollard next to him, Lewis, Ellerbee, Ngata and Suggs in front of him.

You think he should have picked up the slack for Ihedebo, Bynes, Femi's fairy brother, and everyone else?

He had that arm injury this year though. If he's at 100% next season he'll still be an asset.

He'll never be 100% again. The body just doesn't work that way.

For his own longterm health he needs to hang it up and it's time for the team to move on as well.

This is a young man's game. Thirty six next year with nagging injuries the last two. Time to follow Lewis as an analyst for some network.

Ed Reed is not going to retire. He knows he might have one more fairly big payday coming. It won't be a blockbuster, but it will be enough to make him want it. It also won't be with Baltimore. The Ravens have already given out some big contracts that maybe they should have thought about a little more. Flacco is getting his big payday and there is no room left for any other spending. Ed Reed's last game with the Ravens will be Superbowl sunday, it will not be his last game in the NFL.

It's a shame Ed Reed can't realize how much his overall play has deteriorated over the past few years. Hopefully, Ozzie Newsome won't be as delusional and just release him. Not only can't he stay healthy anymore, but his tackling is nonexistent, leaving other defensive backs out to dry. He's had a great career but if he insists on bleeding out another year or two, let's hope it's somewhere else. All he's doing for Baltimore is chewing up valuable cap space.

It's like the Ravens D is playing with 10 men on the field when Reed is in there. I'd just have him blitz the QB on every down because at least that way he might have some impact; more than he's having now, anyway.
