bottom line in the NFL...wins....everything else doesn't matter.....accuracy is overrated...winning is not....
pretty boy stats are for fantasy geeks and losers.....
This would be a good question for Ozzie Newsome since he wanted Ryan and tried to trade up to get him.

Those are his stats from this years playoffs.
Joe's at 60% for his career, which is how a reasonable person evaluates a player overall... not just by cherry-picking a handful of games. And completing 75% of your throws with 3 TDs and 3 INTs can actually be worse than completing 50% with 1 TD and 0 INTs. The fantasy mindset has a hard time with that one. As stated before, it's a team game. We don't know what "his numbers" would be for his career if he had different receivers, a different OL, a different coordinator, a different stadium, a different set of division / conference foes (his TD / INT numbers and "rating" is much better against the NFC by the way; wonder what kind of numbers he'd put up if he played 12 games there instead of 4 every year), etc. etc. etc.
Like another guy that everybody is all hot and bothered over... completed only 51% of his passes this year in two contests against the BAL and PIT defenses, then completed only 52% of his throws in a one-and-done playoff run where he captained a team that blew a 14 point lead at home. I guess he's mediocre too, when you really take a close look at performance against quality opponents and in crunch time.
if you think completion percentage is that important to go look up Bradshaw and Elway...look at their stats, especially completion percentage...I doubt anyone would say either of these two weren't great players...they are in the HOF...
I know how much you hate facts...Flacco's career completion pecentage is over 60%....54% for three games they've won is not the sample you might want to hang your hat on...especially when the team is averaging 30 points a game, he's thrown for 8 tds and 0 ints and will be hoisting the Lombardi in 9 days....
go back to fighting with oldfan....it was much more entertaining and you had a leg to stand on...
get back to me when the light goes on....
Compare that to the qb with a 70% completion rate who throws 80% of his passes in the 10-15 yard range!
Finally, why are we piddle-farting about fantasy stats?
The only Statistic I think we need to focus on is this: Who is in the Super Bowl?!?!?!? Where are all those "elite" QBs? Planning their house parties to WATCH Flacco in the SB!
